Minnesota & Illinois both just offered.

While I am happy we have picked up the pace on early offers, Ilinios has issued 96 offers thus far. Toledo is not far behind with 50. We have 12 offers out. We just offered Tomeo Gulley RB 5'8" 185 lbs, 4.5 40 yd. from Wisc.

Perkins, according to one source, was the most outstanding player at the indianapolis combine. Has BCS offers. One thing this staff is doing is going after higher rated guys.

NIU has had an astounding amount of success recruiting Indiana (Thomas Hammock, Chad Spann, Jason O (large C/G) and of course Chandler Harnish and NaPalm) considering that ND, 2 Big10/11/12 teams and Ball State are there.

Quote:O'Fallon junior linebacker Mike Cotton is getting in on the recruiting fun. He recently picked up offers from Indiana and Northern Illinois.

"Being a 6-foot-3 linebacker and very long arms, he's kind of a hybrid kid," O'Fallon coach Brandon Joggerst said. "He can blitz. He can do a lot of things. He's very physical at the point of attack."

A 205-pounder, Cotton led the Panthers with nine sacks and was second on the squad with 73 tackles. He also had one fumble recovery as O'Fallon went 8-2 and won the Southwestern Conference championship. He was the only junior linebacker selected by the league's coaches for the all-conference first team.

Joggerst said Illinois, Missouri and Kansas have been among the main schools showing interest, but Kansas State and Michigan State also have inquired about him.

RE: 2012 Recruiting Thread
With the 4 scholarships we did not fill in recruiting this year plus the loss of a few scholarship players on the spring roster I'm expecting next years recruiting class to be absolutely huge.

Huskies give DE Pierre Aka of Indy Pike HS his first offer

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/re...Aka-120979

As well as OT Christian Eatherly of metro KC powerhouse Rockhurst

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/re...rly-114078

AKa has the perfect frame for a DE and speed to go with it.

We are really hitting the Ind. recruits hard. We have always had good luck with them.

I do like getting in early on players. BCS schools might come in but gives us a leg up on other MAC teams. Trying to compete later is more difficult

Assistant coach Kevin Kane is a Rockhurst alum. They are one of the traditional powers a la Montini, JCA, in the Kansas City area.

Thomas Hammock, Jason Offensive lineman, Chad Spann, Chandler Harnish. Some of the greatest Huskies of all time. Success in Indiana, Missou and Kansas means you don't have to sign every instate player to have a conference title contending team.
