Same here. Football season just goes by way too quick. I am really glad we got the H Bowl and the guys played so well. Gives me happy thoughts! 03-cloud9

Not me! Football is over, and now it is time for my nerves to settle down and relax. I am now fully into my basketball mode and am ready to cheer the Huskies on through a great MAC season, playoffs, and into the Big Dance!

GO HUSKIES!!!

GO RICARDO!!! (Please, please, with sugar on top??)

Football season is the best 12 weeks (literally days) of the year...this year we were blessed with 14 games. Of course, the brevity of the season is what makes every loss painful. I have to admit I've already watched the H-Bowl 3 times. My wife just looks at me and shakes her head...

I got that beat. My wife caught me watching NIU-Wisconsin 2009. She walked in, asked what it was, and when I told her she said, "We lost that game for cryin out loud.". I told her I wanted to get a look at some of the stuff we may run next year. She told me I was f*****g hopeless.

RE: I miss the season
Just got some new football news for everyone from someone in Athletics.

"We are planning on putting Wisconsin and season tickets on sale Feb. 14"... Happy Valentines Day!
Prices for the SF game are being worked on this week.

Spring game is likely to be April 23rd or 30th. (I let them know the 23rd is the day before Easter so there is not a scheduling SNAFU) My guess is that the game will be on the 30th.

No word on Army game moving to Thursday instead of Saturday but I have been told it is up to the TV people and not athletics.

Things have been too busy around here for me to watch the H Bowl again....yet. I intend to though. That and the 2010 Toledo game. Gotta have something to watch until we get back to football season.

Clarification...

Season tickets will be on sale first (Feb 14th).

Wisconsin/SF tickets will go on sale to the public in May.

Single game home tickets probably won't go on sale until July.

That would seem to coincide with the annual HASF kumbaya, held in February before a basketball game. Most likely, that will be the game on February 12. That's when HASF members can pick up their renewal packets and renew their donations and season tickets. The deadline for both has always been the date of the Spring game.

So there is a HASF fund-raising/season ticket waiting list event at a basketball game?

So there is a HASF fund-raising/season ticket waiting list event at a basketball game?

This is an annual event for HASF donors before a basketball game in February. It is held on Victor E. Court, and they serve hors d'oeuvres. Coaches speak and pump up the crowd about how much good their donations are doing, and student-athletes speak and thank the donors. It's a feel-good session, the main purpose of which is to kick off the HASF donation period. Donors can pick up their donation/season ticket packages and even write out their checks there if they'd like. If you do not attend the event, they will mail your renewal packet the next week. Most likely, this event is where Doeren will introduce himself and his new assistants (or at least some of them) to the fans.

The problem with this event is the timing. They always run up against and into the basketball game start time (yes, some of us actually do attend the basketball games). All they have to do is start the HASF kumbaya a half hour earlier. I hate walking out early, but my prime purpose for being in the Convo that day is to attend the basketball game, not to pick up a packet to write a check that's not due until the end of April.

RE: I miss the season
Well Saturday the 12th doesn't seem like a good day to have this event as it is Valentines weekend. My wife is letting us go to the Wisconsin game for our anniversary so I don't think she will want to spend our valentines day afternoon in the Convocation Center.

The next home game is the 15th which is on a Tuesday also seems like a bad day.

The date that makes the most sense is Saturday the 19th when NIU is hosting the ESNPU "bracket buster". Um what is that?

I will pass along your comment about having the event a half an hour earlier so you don't miss tip-off.

RE: I miss the season
Question.. will the Wisconsin tickets be available to us season ticket holders first or do they just go on sale to everybody at the same time?

Bracketbuster is a game for good mid-majors on the bubble to play other teams on the bubble to help their case, and get good mid-majors on ESPN. We'll be matched up with a comparably bad team for what people hopes is an even game. If we were good, we'd be matched up with another elite mid-major and be put on TV, but obviously that's not the case.
