Plus I personally just want to see MT cut a back room deal with ol Wright Waters and sneak into the New Orleans Bowl. Then have the Sun Belt "roll out the red carpet" for FIU sending them packing to Detroit where they'd get embarrassed by 11-2 NIU and once again have a losing season.
The class of the Sun Belt? Can you look yourself in the mirror and repeat that sentence with a straight face?

I think they deserve it more than MTSU. They have a chance to finish 7-1 in the Sun Belt. MTSU has a chance to finish 5-3. They didn't schedule an FCS team to get an easy win. They scheduled 4 BCS teams, and almost beat Texas A&M, which is currently ranked #18 in the BCS.
So yes, I do think FIU 'deserves' to go to a bowl.

Skully makes valid points... and FIU deserves to go on winning the belt
RE: Do you want MT to beat FIU and go to a bowl game?
Skully you said that you don't think MT deserves a bowl game and FIU does, but IF we beat FIU then we match up almost identical to them. IF we beat them this is what the comparison would look like:

Almost doesn't count in college football. Ya'll will learn that soon enough. If we "almost" beat FIU on Saturday, we'll be sitting at home.
RE: Do you want MT to beat FIU and go to a bowl game?
Stop with the thinking. It doesn't matter what you think. If MT wins, they go bowling (where is TBD). If they don't win, they'll be at home all winter.
The question is what do you want. Troy and MT fans will want an MT win. The 7 FIU fans will want an MT loss. I am curious what the other fans want.

I would think that most Toppers do NOT want MT going bowling. I would think some Troy fans do not, either.
RE: Do you want MT to beat FIU and go to a bowl game?
I want as many SBC teams bowling as possible, no matter who they are...and a direct result of that, this year, would be a shared title and MT going to NO...
RE: Do you want MT to beat FIU and go to a bowl game?
There needs to be a third team representing the SBC in a bowl game. If MT gets 6 wins, they deserve to go. All of Troy's wins are against teams without winning records, just like MT. So if Troy is deserving, then MT is too IMO.

Ok fair enough, but the rest of the conference has no influence whatsoever on how the players play or the outcome of Saturday's game. It's all up to the players on both sides of the ball.
I say let's wait until Saturday and let our teams decide their fate.

It does not matter if we "deserve" to go to a bowl or not. Numerous crappy AQ schools go to bowls every year with 6-6 records and many of their wins come against crappy OOC teams. Do they deserve to go? No. In 2001 we sat at home with an 8-3 record. Did we deserve to go? Yes. None of that matters. All that matters is if you get a 6-6 record and there is a bowl available. What would you have us do if we beat FIU, decline the bowl game just because we don't "deserve" it?

And a handful get to sit at home with 6-6 records. I say if you get to six and go bowling, more power to ya!

FIU will make this a MOO point, like a cow's point of view, it just doesn't matter!!
RE: Do you want MT to beat FIU and go to a bowl game?
NO. And it has nothing to do with me not liking MTSU. I heard on MT's board that bowl reps from NO are going to be at the MT/FIU game. That means MT is probably going to new orleans.
Think about it, that leaves Mobile and Detroit for Troy and FIU. How much sense would it make to send Troy to detriot and FIU to mobile when mobile is basically in troy's backyard? On the flipside, why send the league champ to ice cold detroit? They deserve better. Neither scenario would make any sense. But the NO Bowl reps hate troy and absolutely dont want us for whatever reason.
EDIT: But I also want to get a piece of the title. It's a win win, lose lose scenario. It's bittersweet. (I've been against co champs in the past, I'll admit, but a man can change his mind, right? Actually I'll say this. I'm against touting a co champ like it's a true champ. I have no problem with "co champs" but there is clearly still a #1 team and a #2 team, not two #1's and then #3,4,5, etc...)
The best thing for the league would be Troy in mobile, and FIU in New Orleans. But having three bowl teams would be pretty sweet too. The best thing, would be the same scenario and send MTSU to detroit. That would suck for MT fans, but it would be best in a three way situation. I'll see if it's true about the bowl reps for new orleans, or an MT fan can help me out.

False. The best thing for the league is having 3 bowl games and having a good attendance in NO. They know that which is why they WANT MT in that game. Yes it sucks for FIU that the co-champ would be sent to Detroit. But that's their own fault for having such a crappy fan base. Troy and MT have earned respect, FIU hasn't.
