this comment was posted along with video on youtube:

Quote:I just saw the end of the game on the ESPN3 replay and there is NO DOUBT that TY's knee was down. Politics of SunBelt clearly at play here since the conference wants three teams to go to bowls so they can stuff their f***n greedy selfish faces.

Soon enough, we'll receive an invitation from another conference and although the SunBelt will beg us to stay since we're their largest market asset BY FAR, we'll spit in their faces. NEVER FORGET the implications of this call.

There is nothing in that video that proves that ball came out after the kid's knee was down. Don Quiote's (the guy from the FIU fan site that posted that video) claim that the ball was still in the receiver's hands after his knee was down is foolish talk because you can't even SEE where the ball is! Quiote must have Superman vision and is able to see through people because the ball and the receivers hands are clearly out of the camera's line of sight at the time we saw the guy's knee hit the ground at every single angle.

I understand Quiote's frustration. He saw a catch before the player even caught the ball, and he wanted to believe so much that it was a clean play with no fumble that he has created a psychological manifestation of an altered reality. The fact is, Quiote's reality accepts that there was no fumble, and it will not accept that the play as called was the correct call.

You can't overturn that. I also think it's foolish to think that the Sun Belt was pushing money in order to cost FIU the game. FIU gave up a critical 4th and 6 late in the game off a pass play that resulted in the game-winning score one play later, and then they let the MTSU QB run for 40 yards on a 3rd and long in the last drive which allowed the MTSU team to run out the clock the rest of the way. I mean, I don't understand how he can claim that the conference screwed FIU over.

It seems to me that FIU screwed FIU over. It doesn't help when you only have 16,000 people show up for the most important game in school history only to lose it on national television!! Not as bad as the FAU/Troy attendance today but not good enough to impress a bowl committee that wants to see a maximum attendance. Honestly, Troy and MTSU would deliver a solid attendance for a bowl in New Orleans or Mobile, but FIU comes off as one of those programs that would sell no more than 200 tickets to a bowl rather it be in Detroit, Mobile, New Orleans, or probably even in the Orange Bowl!

Honestly, I don't know about the sanity of some people anymore. I thought I'd seen it all.

Not excusing the the conspiracy theories by FIU fans, but give them some time the loss is still raw, even though there were few questionable call against them. Now I don't know if you have watched any FIU games prior to this, but in almost all SBC games, FIU have been penalized a ridiculous amounts (obviously a portion of that of their own doing), and have seen most of the bull**** calls called againt them not including the non-calls. Now I don't think there is a conspiracy just a combination of the having the worst officials in FBS and FIU having this reputation for some reason.

The game was almost over well before any of this happened when FIU got, IMO, an iffy call when it was 2nd and 30 and MT was called for a personal foul on a hit out of bounds on the scrambling quarterback, when on the replay it was clear that the defender was pulling up from the tackle.

FIU is penalized often because they commit penalties often, plain and simple.

Wasn't Florida International the same team that got into a brawl with players from the University of Miami, FL where an FIU player on crutches was slinging his crutches around at people?

Has any other team in the Sun Belt Conference been involved in anything like that since the league first started? I don't think there has been. With that said I think there is some substance to defend the comment that you made.

We had a pretty good brawl with UK, besides I don't think FIU plays near as thuggish as FAU.

Why all this hate directed at a 8 year old program that won it's first championship? You should be happy that your MTSU is going bowling, focus on that or is your conscience bothering you? Chill man, close games always produce what-ifs, so one or two fans from our board suggested a conspiracy, you conveniently left out that others on the board shot it down.

The way you guys are carry on people may start to think you're afraid of FIU. And yes ( for the millionth time ) FIU WAS IN A BRAWL WITH UM. And yes, with all the suspensions and expulsions that resulted we are SUNBELT CO_CHAMPS 2010.

FIU is known as the team that got in a brawl with Miami, not the co-champs of the Sun Belt in 2010. Sorry fella

I'm not directing anything but truth at FIU. Someone made a comment that sounded like they were suggesting the refs have chosen to gang up on FIU for some reason. All I said was, you are called for penalties often, because you commit penalties often. It's a cause and effect, nothing more.

I've got a fiver that says they'll show a replay of the Miami brawl during FIU's bowl game.

#1. My team is facing Texas-El Paso in the New Mexico Bowl.

#2. I was making an observations based on what I've read and seen.

That is all.
