Our two losses were also by less than a TD, to two teams that are doing quite well this year. K. State (#24 in BCS), and NCST.) NCST we started our no longer starting QB, and K. State, we let slip from our hands. Of course this is all hypothetical, but we were pretty evenly matched with those teams, even when we weren't at our full potential.

We can't offer anyone more money, so we are going to have to recruit from the best available schools at the present time to preserve, and stablize our conference or we are toast. To obtain more money for our schools we need a better TV contract. That means we need to recruit schools in large cities to enhance our TV audience. I'm not putting down UCF nor am I saying that they should not be invited to the BE. I am merely stating my belief that UCF does not deserve to be ranked right now. I couldn't tell you if UCF is a great fit for the BE or not. That depends on what the conference and current members see in their research. One thing we know for sure is that UCF has a poor academic rating, and that will assuredly bring the BE down in academics.

U.S. NEWS AND WORLD REPORT 2010 national university rankings

UL and WVU Tier 1 #176

Central Florida Tier 1 #179

South Florida (lowest ranked BE team) Tier 1 #183

FYI...UCF, Cinci, USF and TCU all made US News Top 20 ranking for National Up-and-Coming Universities this year:

Good to see all of those Univ getting positive pub in regards to their academic achievements.

Temple #132, even though we're significantly better than 132nd.

yes Temple is doing well academically. Unfortunately they won't be invited if VU accepts.

Mid-major?

Yet the below atmosphere screams BIG-TIME?

USF's actual attendance for 2010 in the 65,000 seat Raymond James Stadium:

Stony Brook: 32,870
Western Kentucky: 29,939
FAU: 28,946
Syracuse: 30,344 (Big East Conf Game & USF's Homecoming)
Rutgers: 25,755 (Big East Conf Game)

Also, if you went back to USF's last year in CUSA (same conf UCF and UH belong to), USF didn't hit 20,000 in actual attendance for most of their games.

Can't believe a USF fan would rip on any team in regards to "atmosphere".

RE: Two Possible Expansion Candidates Ranked in Top 25
My thoughts are this:

UCF is not truly on the Top 25 squads in the country, but we've worked our way up the polls through impressive wins on national TV against conference teams. Our two losses are by a combined 11 points to a probable ACC division champ and a Big 12 team that just massacred Texas. The coaches (and apparently the media as well) that have watched us play on national TV see how good our team is becoming now that Godfrey has gotten comfortable at QB, and I think they also recognize that if we played NC State or K-State again, that we might very well beat them.

The polls are what they are, not necessarily a true ranking of the 25 best teams, but a ranking of the 25 teams that have performed the best against their schedules.
