You do realize a yacht that size can hold around a million liters of fuel right? You do realize that a completely full fuel take burning 2,000 liters an hour would run for 20 straight days.

I suspect that most 600+ foot yachts could burn thousands of liters an hour depending on the conditions and speed.

2000 liters is about 550 gallons. I have no doubt she probably burns that per hour at top end or maybe even at cruising speed, but I suspect it averages much less. Either way it's insane and the average person would have problems even fathoming they amount of fuel burned.

Technically, it should show the Space Shuttle mothballed in 2014 as the last flight was in 2011. Still it is a powerful visual that is hard to argue with.

No, it's about efficiency. There is no denying that a decent majority of technological advancements in the past 50 years have at least some beginning at NASA or other govt agencies, but one would be hard pressed to argue that the free market and private companies haven't further developed those technologies at a greater pace than the government.
