1350, the top seed and I have property for sale
Way to go, top seed in the tournament because the best team is a division II transition team that you finished three games behind. Whoo hoo! Nice almost win against UNC too. Still a loss. Communist kickball still sucks, the women's team still sucks.
And 1350? Some athletic dept. homer post pictures of the stands. If there was 1300 plus at that game you guys would have pics posted EVERYWHERE of the full seats just to try and throw it in our faces.
By the way, the communist kickball has been so successful I want to donate to it. So therefore, I'm selling ALL of my Oceanfront Property in Arizona. It's beautiful, from my front porch you can see the see. Gold, if you're interested, I'll throw in an autographed picture of Scott Sanderson, for the rest, I'll throw the Golden Gate in free.
And I haven't forgotten about volleyball, either. 23-6 and haven't really beaten anybody. Maybe next year you can get into the Bemidji State Invitational!
Is it basketball yet?

I'm betting that 1250 were there to see UNC.

Enough people care about soccer to get 1350 to a game so I dont have any reasonable reason to doubt the number (though it could be half that for all I know, I obviously didnt go). I did hear two different sets of people talking about it before the game.

But if there were 1350 there, I too would imagine over 80-85% were UNC fans.

Whatever the true number may turn out to be it was still many thousands less than would have turned out for intercollegiate football on campus. Again, I would probably go to the soccer games if they would bring football back.

We'd even let some of them come on over and kick the PAT's and Fieldgoals.

Men's soccer is a little different than the majority of NCAA D1 sports in that lots of the bigger athletic programs don't have teams so smaller schools have a chance to be up there nationally. Checking the top 25, Akron, Butler, William & Mary, Monmouth & FGCU are in there.

The game against UNC had an excellent atmosphere and the attendance seemed genuine. Not many UNC supporters there.

Yeah and soccer has brought those schools so much national attention huh? Being up there nationally in college soccer is like being up there nationally in water polo or rifle: Nobody cares. Also, Akron and W&M are not quitters and failures like Dave Mullins and ETSU. They still play both football and soccer. Imagine that! We quit on football to bring in soccer.

Buccaneer lover? Really? Hard to tell from this post that bashes Buccaneers. Buccaneer hater would be much more accurate. Communist Football? Well its the only football at ETSU, so maybe you should join the party. Thank you for making a supporter of ETSU sound like nothing more than an uneducated idiot. Keep up the great support Buccaneer Lover/HATER.

ETSU Home Soccer Average Attendance (-UNC game): 370
ETSU vs UNC: 1350

Do you think for a minute that those extra 1,000 people came to watch ETSU? Nope. Even if they were pulling for the Blue & Gold, they came for the Carolina Blue & White.

ETSU soccer is hardly a party. You had a respectable crowd one time this season and it wasn't even for your team. Let's see how great of an atmosphere you have for the prestigious A-Sun soccer championship next week. If A-Sun soccer fans are anything like the basketball fans in this conference we can expect a crowd of dozens.

1. Soccer is not football.
2. Join the party? I don't consider a sporting event with 300 people in attendance a party.
3. Bring back football.
4. Nice first post.

I was refering to the comment made by Buccaneerlover that associated soccer with communism, and soccer is called football in places outside of East Tennessee and America. I just don't understand how someone can claim to be a Buccaneer lover that doesn't support ETSU sports. The fact that so called ETSU fans bash their own school is a primetime example of why we don't have a football team! The same people that talk trash about men's and women's soccer and volleyball have the nerve to ask why we don't have football? Wake up! It's 2010 and in order for ETSU to get a football team back all of the programs need to be strong. It's sad that ETSU has such disloyal fans that can't be proud of ETSU success.

Seven, welcome aboard....
you want to know why?? THEY KILLED OUR FREAKING FOOTBALL PROGRAM WITHOUT A FREAKING SECOND THOUGHT, PUT A TENNIS COACH IN CHARGE, LIED ABOUT NEEDING A STUDENT VOTE TO BRING BACK FOOTBALL, AND BROUGHT IN MEN'S SOCCER (AND IT'S futbol, GET THAT RIGHT)

Sorry, didn't mean to yell at you on your third post.
But get yourself some historical reference before you flame a guy who's been posting since the old SoCon Hoops days... newbies don't get a challenge card on vets. Newbies are naive and need a history lesson.

You want to grow this site?? How about having something to talk about other than soccer seeds, volleyball losses, and the prospects for the Atlantic Sun season.

RE: 1350, the top seed and I have property for sale
Soccer is called Football in 43 countries, get that right straightfromthehorsesmouth. Sorry to call out a hypocritical veteran ETSU "fan". Did the soccer teams cut ETSU football? No. Instead of bashing the sports that ETSU does have and blaming people that had NOTHING to do with the program getting cut, why don't they look at the real problem. The fact that people come to ETSU dressed head to toe in UT orange and leave every weekend to knoxville to support a school that they don't go to. If ETSU had more loyal fans that supported all the sports that ETSU has maybe we could get Football back. I would love to have football back at ETSU. I'm sorry that there are so many disgruntled ETSU football fans, but they are taking their anger out on the wrong people.
