RE: A New Respect for Coach Kill/Thoughts Moving Forward
Was the tick play by MSU in OT to beat ND cheesey?
How about the run play vs Purdue by Anderson off the fake punt?
If such calls get results occasionally - then more cheese please!
I'm expecting one from the Bears vs Packrats Monday nite and maybe vice versa.
I did get a few Qs from Illini fans seated not far from me about going for two early in the game. I relayed the kicking game outcomes from ISU game as the likely reason why Huskies went for two. Consider that decision vs Clkski being sent onto field to make a 49yd FG under a minute to set up onside kick attempt. Does not quite compute IMHO.
The formation was indeed odd but failed to catch UI off guard. In fact Huskies looked out of sync when play unfolded. Did not seem there were many options available should play break down.

I completely agree with your last point Cybes. It was obvious UofI wasn't phased by the formation. NIU should have taken a time out. I'm fine with going for two, I understand our kicking game is atrocious. But once it's obvious, UofI is more ready for the trick play than NIU was, we should have called a time out, brought the offense back on the field and let Spann / Harnish determine the outcome with a better play.

Kill said the play worked well and there was a guy left uncovered. Harnish just didn't see it.
So yeah.

Kill also said that it wasn't Grady's fault that his passes were getting deflected at the line

I wish I actually saw the play though. I'm not sure if the Big Ten network didn't show it or if I was too busy celebrating the NIU TD but all I saw was a ball on the ground and everyone walking off the field.

+1. And yeah, not kicking the extra point, and then bringing the guy out for a long FG, and him making it, doesn't compute.
