His wife of 25 years divorced him and opened a business in Knoxville named "Alimony's"... Will her alimony payments be cut now that his salary has been cut??? I guess they can both live on a little less since there will still be millions coming in..I know she has a lot of friends in Knoxville that can't stand him..

As for the SEC kicking UT out ... no way. way to much money for the conference.. and I agree, if they were going to kick anybody out because of breaking NCAA rules, it would have been Alabama years ago.

Should Dwight Dasher, qb at MTSU been punished equally to that of Reggie Bush for taking 1500 dollars to his mom's rent for two months vs. Bush taking enough to put his parents up in a 500,000 dollar home and a new Escalade? Also keep in mind that Dasher paid the money back.

Now we find out that Pearl was cheating while he was at Wisconsin- Milwaukee. UT must have known about that when they hired him..just like they had to know about the bunch that came into Knoxville with Kiffin.
How long will the athletic dept continue to embarrass the university before they clean house? Or is it all about winning, and it's Ok to ignore the law because other schools do it?

Remember schools like that have the money to cover up a lot of sins. Things that poorer schools would not be able to cover up. If you have the money you can do just about anything you want and get away with it. One thing we do not have to worry about at ETSU!

ut currently has an interim president. I doubt that an interim president will take the necessary action to clean up the problems in their athletic department. Prior to the person currently serving as interim, ut had 3 presidents in 7 years. What you are seeing is merely a symptom of mulitple years of ineffective or interim executive leadership at their university.

No one is minding the store, and the kids are surely enjoying the candy.

It's all about the money. He wins games and puts butts in the seats... If he had been 15 and 15 last year, he would have been fired as soon as all the cheating news came out! If he has a bad season this year, he is gone.. then there is the possibility that the NCAA might ban him from coaching..but otherwise he can hang on with the UT brass and fans.
It will come down to how they end the year..If they end strong, the fans and the big money guys like Haslam will keep kissing his ass all the way to the bank!
It also shows you better be ready to play against a D2 or anybody else on your schedule..

The interesting thing about some of these D2's is that they can take players that other schools can't touch anymore... so you may end up seeing them knock off the occasional D1... BUT a RANKED TENNESSEE TEAM??? That's just funny.... rolling right now...

Pearl has said that whatever he did would have been "minor infractions" if he just hadn't lied about it in the first place. So now he's lost about 1.5 million bucks, is suspended for these 8 games (presumably not getting paid for those either), and that's all BEFORE the NCAA even gets their bite at the apple. As much as you can't feel sorry for Pearl for doing something against the rules and then lying about it, as scared as UT is of the NCAA, you would think it's run by like Pinochet or somebody...

I disagree. I think Pearl sucks. He is a conniver and a liar. Go NCAA, catch all the cheaters. Punish them.

Trouble is ut has WAY too much money to really fear the NCAA. Kind of like the drug lords in Mexico fearing the police. Not happening.
