RE: Won't listen to Wolken's show again
I will continue to listen and it looks like the show has gotten even better because Harry Long, who has the worst radio voice since Mike Flemming, has apparently "left the show"

Dan said Harry disagreed with how the show went down yesterday and "things did not end well"

More Roser and Less Harry is a good thing, but I believe Harry is the General Manager so things could get interesting

I didn't. Even if I wanted to listen (which I don't) I can't because the signal is so weak.

There is this new technology called the internet where you can actually stream the audio... check it out!

RE: Won't listen to Wolken's show again
That's exactly what I would have expected just from listening to Wolken and reading Andy. Of course, what would I know; I'm a cult member!

And, thanks big time for the "classy SOB" comment. My wife has had to suffer through 30 years with a LifetimeTiger, and it does her good to see good vibes happen sometimes!!

Only opinion I've ever had of Wolken, was from personal encounter me and my son's had with him at a Calipari/Tiger practice. He was arrogant , unfriendly and seemed to think he was above the casual fan. Still think that and it shows even more in his latest actions.

On the other hand, I met AAA in person once and was blown away with his personality and love of all things TIGERS. And, when I say all things, that includes each and every fan, player, coach, admin.....etc. He's a class act, and it only took one encounter face to face to determine that. That's without even taking into consideration the classyness of his board persona. And, just so we're clear, me and AAA have had our disagreements.

I would also like to include the many other board personalities that I've formed relationships with over the past 4-5 years. Coincidentally, the majority of those are the one's voicing their displeasure at Wolken and feel the same way I do about AAA. We are a tight knit group. A family. One that I'll always go to bat for. WE ARE MEMPHIS!

I will be voicing my displeasure to his employer.

ps..........LifetimeTiger, I one day hope to meet you in person. You sir, are one classy SOB.

Ya'll crack me up, ya'll all listen to AAA who is hardly ever right, but get mad at Dan. Nothing will happen to Dan, the 2 jobs are not related. And all the people who keep saying i won't listen to him again, i don't buy it. He'll say something else and everyone will run to the podcast and listen.

no they are not connected. I also wrote a letter to multiple divisions within the CA. I explained my views on it, and understood that his show has no connection with the CA at all, but that his actions publicly cast a negative shadow and I hold them accountable for his actions outside of their work.

I received a couple generic responses but received one real inquiry and we talked back and forth a little bit about the whole scenario.

Who was it that you emailed that generated a response?

1: "You all" informally creates the contraction, "y'all" not, "ya'll". Aside from that personal gripe...

2: If you did your research you will note that I said the two jobs don't relate in other threads, but we can have an impact on his primary employer's feelings towards Dan by voicing our distaste in his reporting ethics.

3: The issue isn't about who knows what, the issue is about Dan reading the email on the air in a public forum, an action that even his coworkers displayed a distaste of. I feel like I am taking crazy pills, here. When did I ever argue that I think that AAA is a better reporter than DW? AAA doesn't even think that. This issue has been discussed ad nauseum, and I choose to believe that you are not obtuse enough to believe that the issue is solely about who knows more about the situation.

I'll never listen to him again. Judging from the few phone calls he gets, I bet his listening base is in the hundreds, not thousands.

My respect just went up for Harry. If you ask me, the wrong person left the show.

Is "all y'all" the plural of y'all? I recall that debate once raged on for about a month at a Gamecock board, I believe it was.

RE: Won't listen to Wolken's show again
Favorite points from that "debate," some of which were in conflict with other points:

1) "y'all" is like the word deer--it's singular and plural (don't try that argument during deer season)
2) "all y'all" isn't...okay, ain't...just plural; it's e pluribus maximum
3) "all y'all" is redundant....and stuff.

The fights over how to spell it were the equivalent of how you set your toilet paper roll--down or up. There was a guy pretending to be a Clemson poster (Clempson/Clem's son/Clemons, etc.) who closed the thread down with a, "What's toilet paper? For that matter, what's a toilet?"

This is the smack forum, right?

RE: Won't listen to Wolken's show again
Haha. It's pretty sad that the debate even happened.

For me, y'all is a colloquial term that can be accepted formally in the South. When I translate the 2nd person plural forms from my Greek and Latin I translate it as "y'all".

"All y'all" seems a bit redundant, but there are a lot of redundancies in everyday vocabulary.
