OJ is upset about the trade rumors. Killed his confidence.

Doubt it. He played well right after the break. If it's a confidence issue, it probably has to do more with those missed FTs that would have sealed the game against LA.

He's probably upset that some people would rather have Kevin Love than him.

Most likely. That's the real crime in all of this.

Don't remind me about that Tigeresque choke job.

RE: OJ's last five games
OJ was 7-12 for 20 points 9 rebounds and 3 assists and a steal tonight. Still missing too many FT's and had too many TO's, but it wasn't a bad game. Sophomore slump. I recall a couple weeks back when Love was going for single-singles for a stretch. He's was killing me on fantasy.

Another plus is that Love has missed quite a bit for injury.
OJ has started every game (knock on some serious wood there).

Last 5 games:
Minny: 1-4
Memphis: 3-2
Overall record:
Minny: 14-48
Memphis: 32-30
Unfair to compare Love numbers to Mayo numbers. Sure, they were traded for each other, but they have different roles, obviously. Love would NOT be starting for the Grizz. A man named Zach Randolph holds that spot. I think the Grizz are in a much better place. But keep on keeping on with your man love.

I can't stand this argument. Are you saying that if we had kept Love the records would have been reversed?

Not reversed, but ours would not be as good as it is now. What would better suit us, a 2nd team power forward or a playmaking scoring guard?
We're in good shape.

Well lets see we probably would not have signed Zach if we had Love. Love isnt going to take over and win a game like Zach can. So in reality you take O.J. and Zach off this team yeah we would be right around the 14 win mark if not worse.

I know all of the people can play the what-if the Grizzlies has this player of that, but how is it productive to change what their record is in the end. Maybe it would be better with the eventual NBA rookie of the year Tyreke Evans, but in reality, none of us will ever know.

Which was the point I was trying to make Bartlett. We have OJ and they have Love (and I'm thankful for this), but you can't say that if the players were swapped that the records would be as well. If they want to play "what if" then I'll play with them.

Yet, you're comparing the records.
btw, Zach is making like 12 million more per year than K-Love.
Oh, and I loved your next post.........."playmaking guard". He shoots from the outside. He doesn't make any plays. That's the big knock on him, well.......that and his weak defense. If he's on, he's solid. If not, he's terrible. That's what you get with guys that are limited and prefer to shoot jumpers.
If you think K-Love wouldn't be starting here without Randolph and don't think that that kind of extra cash and players that were sent away wouldn't have been used to pick up some better players than we have now (especially a stronger bench), then you're clueless. Wait, that would mean the Grizz front office would have to make some consistently good decisions.........you're right. They would still be mediocre.
ps.......glad to see OJ play better last night. I really like the 9 rebounds part. They shut down the Bulls in the fourth. Craziest team I think I've ever seen. Can't win at home , can't lose on the road. Oh, well. They're better than last year. Thanks in big part to Randolph. Dude has really played well and changed his attitude and changed his reputation. Good for him and the Grizz.
