RE: Pitt Rumor to the Big 10
We can survive without Pitt. I hope the rumors are true.

Rutgers would be a bigger lost. Temple can replace Pitt.

Oh no. Bit's going to move this to the expansion board. Sorry big guy.

We can give Pitt a BC sendoff.

what exactly does Syracuse bring to the BE except for mediocre (at best) football and underachieving hoops teams? Or are they still riding the coat tails of Carmelo? I say send the Orange to the B10...

We've dealt with this sh!t every season since the ACC raid. You expect it to change now? Everyone is pushing for larger conferences, and we're still in this hybrid monstrosity. It can't last, especially with the leadership we have to deal with...

The real question is, what do you bring to this message board? And saying mediocrity would actually be a compliment to you. Syracuse basketball doesn't have to defend itself. But if going to 3 national title games in the last 20 years, and winning a national title is underachieving, you can sign my @ss up for it right now. I guess they underachieved last year though, getting to the Sweet 16 before losing to the higher seeded Oklahoma Sooners.

What makes it worse is the people who get excited about it and then run and spread the rumor even more.

How soon can the Tiger message boards spread the next rumor: "Shhh, we hear it's Memphis to the Big Ten..."

Awww bigslacker. I meant nothin personal by my comment. But you do know Pitt last made the final four in 1941- nearly 70 years ago. No kiddin- 1941. So when you say "underachieving hoops teams....."?

Glad to inspire a new member to join the boards. Welcome.

where does it say that or is this jest an opinion of a poster, the schools are far enough apart for it to happen, ie wv, pitt same issues.

RE: Pitt Rumor to the Big 10
No way does the Big Ten choose Pittsburgh. Their best choice would be Notre Dame followed by Texas then Missouri. These would give the Big Ten the best bang for the buck. The Notre Dame choice is obvious. Texas would give the Big Ten a footprint in Texas and allow them to expand their network there to cable and get a lot more $$$ off of the people by having the cable companies charge each subscriber $1 or $2 and not give them a choice. This would deal the Big XII a big blow and then the Big Ten could make more money.

Its time to delete this thread or move it to the expansion board. The Thursday press conference is dead, but Pitt to the Big 10 rumor isn't exactly dead yet... But its speculation at this point. So theres really nothing else to discuss here.
