Yep it's over, 85-71 with 1:20 to go.
Congratulations to Uconn .. huge win for the Huskies obviously, but a big feather in the Big East cap as well.

Texas wasn't going to stay #1, no matter what they did @UConn. But this is still a big win for the Huskies...

RE: UCONN taking down number 1 TEXAS
We are still UCONN.
What a great win. This team has faults, but when it can put it together it can take down any team in the country. The talent is there. Basketball IQ is not always, but UCONN plays hard. Dyson/Walker still one of the top backcourt in the country. The biggest positive today is UCONN outrebounded Texas in the game. That was one physical team we played and UCONN went toe to toe with them. Blaney is doing a great job coaching the Huskies.
This win might be the win that finally woke up UCONN. Rest of the BE better watch out cause here comes the Huskies. I been saying all along teams are judged in March, not Dec/Jan. We got another month to get it all together.

You were mighty quiet for a couple of weeks.
LOL, seriously, though, it looks like Blaney has the Huskies playing better than Calhoun did. This is also the best ooc win that any BE team has so far this season. Congrats Uconn. Great win for the Huskies and the BE.
I hope the Huskies are coming around now. After the epic 6 overtime game last season, I am interested in seeing how ESPN promotes the SU/Uconn game if both teams are doing well.

Great win by the Huskies.
Clark Kellogg continues to be one of the best announcers around.
Hit the nail on the head with Walker. If Walker truly learned his lesson this game, UConn could be a force to be reckoned with the rest of the season.
Congratulations Huskies' fans.
Cheers,
Neil

Yeah I been quiet cause outside our girls' team, not much positive about men's team. The team definitely has the talent to go far. I been saying Walker been playing like crap last few games. He calmed down in the 2nd half vs. trying to make all those ridiculous highlight reel type of plays. He is still a great PG if he learns to calm down and attack at the right moment. People forget he is only a sophomore and its his first year playing PG at UCONN. Losing AJ Price (who is proving to be one of the biggest steal in the NBA draft btw) was huge for UCONN. We still got Stanley Robinson who is the most athletic kid on the floor during just about any game.
At end of the day, UCONN will go as far as Walker and Dyson will take them. Both were on fire today.
As for Texas, they are a really physical team who probably is used to abusing the other team physically. It didn't work with UCONN. It was funny when they went zone one possession cause they couldn't handle Dyson and Walker going to the hole on man to man. That kid Pittman should play football for the Horns vs. basketball.

Ditto on Kellogg. He had some great insight into the game. He pinpointed exactly why UCONN was able to turn it around. Basically, it is down to Walker limiting turnovers in the 2nd half. Today people can see why UCONN get a lot of foul calls because not many teams can stay in front of Walker and Dyson to the hole including Texas.

From what I heard UConn stromed the court. Tell me you did not do that, if true I guess you forgot that you are UConn and that is below you.
Anywho congrats on beating Texas, very good win for the Huskies.

They are Uconn, true, but they have been having a tought start to their season, which is something that the students at Uconn are not used to. They have a tough start to the season losing at least 6 games already. They beat the #1 ranked team in the nation and they stormed the court. So what? Students these days are looking for a reason to storm the court to have the true college experience. It was a great win. Let the folks enjoy it.

True, kid are looking for any reason to strom the court but I am taken aback by this. UConn was ranked at one time or another Number 1 in the Nation just last season.

RE: UCONN taking down number 1 TEXAS
Yeah we should not storm the court after beating Texas. I mean so what they are #1. If UCONN could make free throws, they would have beat Kentucky too. Anyway, kids these days are looking for one reason or another to storm the court. You could tell the students weren't sure if they should storm the court but in the end they did. It wasn't the greatest storming the court moment.
I am hope the blowout win against St. Johns and now Texas finally woke this team up. Kemba needs to understand he needs to control the game in order for UCONN to have success. Anyway, a growing up day for our young PG. If Kemba ever develops a jumpshot, he will be a lottery pick for the NBA in a couple of years. The kid definitely got talent but he needs to learn how to control the game better.

RE: UCONN taking down number 1 TEXAS
I must have missed Kansas State storming the court earlier this week when they beat a Texas team that was actually still considered the #1 team in the country.
Saw the replay. UCONN's fans reminded me of an A-10 fanbase.

Not sure what you mean by that comment.
If you mean whatever A-10 fanbase has the loudest building maybe. Andy Katz just said Gample was the loudest place he has been to this year or last year.
Can't get over what UCONN would have been like with Dyson on last year's final 4 team. Dyson is a total beast today dropping 32 on the Horns.

RE: UCONN taking down number 1 TEXAS
Fans storm the court. It's not the coaches, staff or the team that storms the court. You can't control what fans decide to do. If a few people decide to run on the court- no control over how many fans follow them. It's not a big deal. Mich fans stormed the court when Mich beat UCONN last week. This was a big win for the Husky's who have been having a less than stellar season. This was big win for the BEast coming off Purdue's beating of WVU and UCONN"s lost to Mich. we weren't looking like a strong conference. Two big wins and that's agood thing. In ESPN power ranking they had placed Texas above Villanova and SYR even though Texas lost to KSU. Well now they have to look at the BEast a little differently and with a bit more respect.
Note: the Purdue and Mich. losses were on the road. Todays wins were home games for the BE teams.
