BG tried to play the Zips in a 2-3 zone for much of the first half. It was working really well as Akron was shooting 3-22 or something like that. BG built a nice lead while in it going up 19-10 at one point. Once the shots started falling it became a different story and Akron was able to pull away as BG had to break the zone to try an get more possessions.

BG also tried a 3-qtr court press that really didn't seem to phaze the Zips but I don't think BG is anywhere near as quick or as athletic as OU.
