Don't be suprised if Meyer doesn't put Tebow out there to score again.

I didn't have an issue with it. The guy's a senior and he probably saw that the records were in sight. Florida let them score 24 points too, so it's not like they played hard when the game was in hand.

I don't buy that for a second.

Yep, Florida is going to score again. Just gave up a 52 yard run. Unreal.

You don't think they eased up in terms of defensive schemes and called the defense more conservatively? I did.

I don't coop. They were still pressuring the hell out Pike. UC had to convert on 4th down and use a few nice grabs to get to 24.

RE: Sugar Bowl Game Thread
we gave up 40 + to several teams this season, that were nowhere near the level of Florida. The offense didn't help out, could have scored some more or ran the clock to keep their offense off the field. If Pike actually leads Guidulgi on the flee flicker, then we are right in the game. Too much time on the field for a porous defense.

And so ends the misery.

What a pitiful way to end a good season. Depressing.

Bottom line, UC had a great football season illustrating yet another step in the right direction. No, they aren't elite yet as has been seen in the past two BCS bowls, but they're making significant progress. All you can do is continue building on the previous season and eventually they can become elite. It just takes some time.

Time to look forward to the Spring Game. Great season, ending with a disappointing loss. At least our basketball team is giving us some hope for a good season.

So...maybe we should concentrate on MBB?

That was ugly...

We have posters here that need to apologize to ESPN, Herbstriet, and Gator Nation...

The plain, ugly truth is that the SEC and Big 12 are LIGHT YEARS ahead of the rest of the other conferences...for a reason....they have superior talent and coaching...and they play superior competition during the course of their seasons..

This was like watching an NFL team play a DI school...no contest...

Oh...we didn't cover, in case you were wondering (the line had slid to 13 by kickoff)...

G'night everyone!

Meyer said he plans to be the coach of the Gators next year.

No suprise. Makes all the talk about this being his last game from Thom and Billick even more retarded. Nobody believes Meyer won't be there for game #1 next season.

I wouldn't put the Big 12 in that group either. Florida and Bama were light years better than everybody in the SEC. Our defense over the back half of the season was pretty awful. Really if we have a decent defense we stay in the game a little bit longer. We have our chances next season to make a statement in the non-league next year in few games.

UC isn't at the elite class yet but is in that next group of twenty to thirty schools that given the season rise up the elite level or fall to the medicore. WVU, Pitt, Notre Dame, UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, Texas Tech, Michigan State, and many more schools are at this level.

We probably are favored to win the Big East season.

Sorry for you guys about the result. We've had our share of disappointment this season so I know how you feel. But you have a good new coach and a bright future. Good luck next year.

RE: Sugar Bowl Game Thread
We had hoped that we would step up but recruiting 4-5 star athletes puts UF and other elite programs as a big advantage. But that is okay, we can find a nice niche and a successful program. Keep improving recruiting and completing more winning seasons. We have traveled light years in 3 years and the future looks bright. Lets continue building the foundation and sustain something for the long term. It was a great ride, especially looking back at some of the games and how it could have went the other direction. Great season, just not the ending we had hoped for.

Nobody here owes an apology to the obnoxious Kirk Herbstreit or the obnoxious network he works for. I will say that he, and the other critics, turned out being right, and I congratulate him for an excellent pick. Everyone has a right to an opinion, but no one should excuse/condone those like Herbie being arrogant about it.

Speaking of the critics, there is only one thing that can be done to make them go away... and... for two years running, we've failed MISERABLY in doing so.

As for the Gators, I didn't see a whole lot of people bashing them. We may have poked a bit of fun at Tebow/Meyer, but no one doubted how good they were. I wholeheartedly congratulate them.

G'night to you too...
