Many of the U's former players have no respect and really dislike Butch Davis, there were a number of things that led up to this that is not mentioned. In all, I think under Shannon, it will once again become the U, but with a better rep.

My guess, based on your comment, is that Butch tried to distance himself from those players and the rep that the players from the early 90s built up.

I remember WVU going to the Orange Bowl one year, with a decent team, and it seems like they averaged less than one yard per carry during the entire game.
