By any chance did you watch the one season of The Next Great American Band? The winners were the three Clark Brothers, who were the most amazing guitar and banjo pickers I've ever seen.
Yea I remember the Clark Brothers, those kids could play any instrument and make it sound awesome, they were talented. I think they jammed out on the gut bucket one night and it was even rockin lol. Seriously they were really good to be only college age kids or younger.

1. Duane Allman
2. Jeff Beck
3. Roy Buchanan
4. Eric Clapton
5. Danny gatton
6. David Gilmour
7. Jimi Hendrix
8. Sonny Landreth
9. SRV
10. Leslie West
Me, too. Knew/know six of them. I would only add Brent Mason, who is the champ of studio players in Nashville, the late Shawn Lane(fastest ever, hands down), and the gypsy guitar great, Django Reinhardt.

I was amazed every performance. I liked that show, too, sorry it's gone.

Yes I realise that I left out Carlos, and Clapton and Carlos at the Coliseum in 75 from the front row, was a pretty good concert. Joe Walsh, especially with the james gang was a great guitarist. I guess I could have made a list of 100. I left off Gary Moore, who played with Thin Lizzy, and is a Killer guitarist.

Yep Strat, Shawn Lane was a lightning fast player. Brent Mason, I'm unfamiliar with, there are great studio guys who you never get to know. But the great performers know who they are. Django Reinhardt, was another omission. I was originally working on a top 10. Clapton is who got me interested in guitar. The other cats were guys I had seen, and thought were the greatest.
Seeing Buchanan play at the little theater that was called the Ritz on madison, was one of my music highlights. Clapton and Santana at the MSC. Beck playing , "cause we've ended as lovers, and Santana playing Europa. " huge highlights for me. I have a lot of favorite players.

And a bit of what else he can do:
Great work. Then you will love Danny Gatton, Will Ray, Jerry Donahue, John Jorgenson. Very impressed with the Chicken Pickin, at high speed with Mr. Mason. If you don't know the players I mentioned, youtube has some great clips. Thanks, I enjoyed that.

Joe Norman can rip some Hendrix.
If you ever ran around with Joe, I now know what is wrong with you. I should have figured.

Haven't seen him in many moons, but I will always consider him a friend.
