TCU's a good team, my ? is how they stack up against the real big teams. I saw some of their game against OU, and they were decidedly smaller. The same w/ Boise, not a big team. Speed helps, but if the other side has it it negates it.
So size does matter, said the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree(Alabama) to Charlie Brown's little wilting tree(Utah).

Lets also not forget, Fresno State, the team that lost to Colorado State a few days ago, came into New Jersey and stomped the #2 Big East team

Rutgers in September does not equal Rutgers in November. NC State will find that out on Monday.

Do you really think that game would end up with the same result if it were played in the 2nd half of the season?

The Big East is expected to beat mediocre ACC teams in their bowl games.
HAHA!! 03-lmfao Mountain Whatever Conference fan comes in, beats his chest over his conference's wins, then hedges excuses for the remaining games.

Nice to see you here again EV!

Question for you: if Cincy beats VT on Jan 1, are you still going to consider Cincy lucky to be in a BCS conference?

While we're at it, let's ALSO not forget that the ACC conference champion lost to ECU.

Rutgers would crush Fresno state if that game were played now. Comparing Rutgers over the first couple games to now is just ridiculous.

Now the ignorant media and coaches will have the freaking MWC runners-up ranked higher than the Big East champions in the final polls no matter what happens in the Orange Bowl. Absolutely ridiculous! Cincinnati could hammer Virginia Tech 91-0 and the morons in the media will still be blabbling their idiotic lies that the MWC is better than the Big East. I hope Alabama crushes Utah worse than Georgia dismantled Hawaii. Thanks for nothing, Broncos! Just unbelievable!

I think the Big East would have been media fodder regardless of the outcome of this game. Had Boise won the anti-BCS folks would have used the win to disparage the Big East. Now that TCU has won the Mountain West will have their chests out now. The Big East was in the proverbial no-win situation tonight. But I don't listen to this crap anymore.
The only thing the BE has to go is the recent history of TCU in the CUSA. Cincy beat them two out of three times when they played. That speaks to UC being as good or better then TCU

Not at all...I think it will be great for Cincinnati

I never said Cincinnati didn't deserve to be in a BCS conference, I just said they had zero history, which is absolutely true, especially compared with several Mountain West schools...but they're history is unfolding before our eyes...

Whether or not they win the Orange Bowl, they've made huge strides, and winning the Big East is a huge achievement for them

Virginia Tech on the other hand, must win...they're 0-3 in BCS bowls...this is a huge statement game for them IMO

That has absolutely zero relevance to this year and the current TCU and Cincinnati teams

ya, Rutgers probably would...but most NCAA programs give as much relevance to a win in September as they do in December, and Rutgers has a resume with a loss to a mid-level WAC team

Fair enough EV. I do remember you saying something like that though, but you may have just been pissed at Cat's Claw or someone at the time 03-nerner

It's a statement for UC too. One, because of the BE stigma that doesn't seem to go away, and also, everyone's like "who's Cincinnati, and why should we care?"

I look for a great game in Miami.
