TV coverage will improve when teams in The BEast have fans wanting to watch them. Win and people will want to watch. It's that simple. Nobody would want to watch WVU if they hadn't been really good for a while. Nobody wants to see a loser - or mediocrity...
Success is the only measure that comes across in the age of rank me, instead of actually determining who's best on the field. TV coverage fuels this mindset, and everyone on TV has an opinion. Of course, that opinion usually determines their alma mater, their alma mater's conference, and the conferences of foes they played to be superior to others. And since this measure is all subjective, their opinion on this subject matters.
Each week we see how much their opinion matters, as more and more "upsets" occur. In reality, these "upsets" are just games that the experts knew absolutely nothing about, since their entire knowledge of the teams involved is statistical. They don't know the teams, the players, or anything else - and their opinion matters...
It boggles the mind...
