I have to laugh about this one. Does anybody know the rules? The ball is actually live on a blocked punt or FG attempt until it either a) stops moving or b) is downed past the line of scrimmage by a member of the kicking team. A UCF player could have picked up the ball and returned it. Grant Gregory (the holder, by the way) alertly went down and picked up the ball to prevent that from happening. In fact, he was in the act of handing that ball to the official when he was blasted by the UCF player.

Cripes, doesn't anybody remember Leon Lett going down and touching the blocked FG attempt on a snowy Thanksgiving day against Dallas when the Dolphins were standing around about to touch the ball down? Same principal in reverse.

And you guys wonder why CyberBull coined the phrase UCiF...

I notice that, even with all of the UCF fans around, nobody's addressed the beer bath...

RE: Another reason for USF to stop playing UCF
I don't think the officiating changed the outcome of the game. USF controllled most of the game. UCF's defense played well and kept us in it and USF let their guard down and we tied it up. UCF was overmatched, we had a QB making 2nd start ever, our starting TB was a freshman and we only had 1 experienced WR on the field. I was proud of UCF's effort and I think our team showed a lot of heart. I saw UCF make at least one blatant late hit. I don't know how UCF fans acted at the game; wasn't their I live in Atlanta. I am not sure I believe your Qb's father was threatened. I think he got some calls and it was used to motivate USF. No excuse for a "fan" calling a player, let alone a players family member. UCF's qb last year got some nasty phone calls himself. One nutbag does not make a whole fanbase bad. That being said I think Grothe shows a lack of class when it comes to his post game comments. i don't mean that as a flame but as an outsider looking in.
If you leave out polls and recruiting...the UCF vs. UCF game should happen. It puts butts in seats and is a nice road trip for the fans, particularly consider both schools are geographicly isolated in their conferences. Besides since USF wins the games against UCF I cannot understand how it could hurt Bulls recruiting. But oh well. it ain't gonna happen. Let's move on. Congrats to USF. You have a fine program.

Sometimes a series just needs a break. WVU-VT is a good example, and so is USF-UCF.

UCF fans are garbage & this doesn't surprise me at all. What other fanbase organizes nights to go around spaming others message boards for no apparent reason than to just $hit it up like they are in a gaming community. Who else does that immature crap. Our rivals board had to ban them all. They probably organized a call Matt Grothe death threat night as well. I saw his number posted over there. They are just garbage.

You guys are so funny. Lets see so you guys think that the morons who post on here are representative of the UCF fan base. Amazing that you guys can not take a step back and realize that those with all the posts are not the ones that are true fans. Forums are a place young kids go to pump their chests and pick fights behind the protection of the internet. The people on this forum, yes including me, are representative of nothing but humans. It is like listening to Hannity on AM and thinking all republicans are morons. If you guys honestly base opinions on school's reputations from a bunch of silly kids then you guys need a real assessment on your reasoning skills.

...not when their whole fan base is "a bunch of silly kids"... & you got to admit death threats are over the top, even for a bunch of silly kids.

Then your coach, administration, fans and hometown media should stop btiching about it every day.

It's not USF's fault that UCF players showed no discipline.

He had state troopers guarding him during the game. You would think that the police would ask to see the text messages and listen to the voicemails. The fact that the police got involved, suggests that they took the threat seriously.

It's going to be great making conference road trips to ECU again ;^)

You know you can't shut Bianchi up, there is no use in trying. 03-banghead
