There was talk from the Cincinnati broadcasters (during the Cincinnati/Syracuse game) that Mike Tranghese and the Big East were pushing hard for the Tire Bowl to take Connecticut over Cincinnati. That's why I don't blame UConn for the Tire Bowl thing I blame Tranghese. Connecticut deserved what they got, they have Big East championship rings and a Top 25 ranking (BCS). That being said, I just thought that it would have been better from a pure matchup stand point. Cincinnati would have given Wake all kind of trouble, particularly because Mauk would have been going against his old team. UConn obviously would have hammered Southern Miss. But that's neither here nor there, what's done is done, and that game was frustrating because UConn should have won that game. That being said, UConn is a program on the rise, no doubt about it.
Yes an d to rise you need the right people like a 1st class offensive coordinator, which we don't have, it's time to dismantle the good 0le boy network...........We were out coached, the kids played thier hearts out, even ESPN said the offensive coaches sux wind.
Look what coaching did for my Patriots 16-0......,
The State 0f Conn went 1st class spent big $$$$, now it's time to get a 1st class offensive coordinator..........

Yes, UConn sucked out loud. They were pretty lucky this season and the luck ran out.
I hate that the BEast lost a bowl game, but at least it was UConn and not a good team that lost.
You are a typical couch potatoe, probaly never played organized fb in your flucking pathetic life.
We earned what we got on the grid iron, you can't blame the kids for a sucky offensive coordinator who is part of a good ole boy network that must change.....

Dont blame uconn, should they have denied the CCB invite?
I do agree that cincy would have beat WF, which would have been better for us as a whole because we need 4 teams ranked, but whatever.

16-0 aww yea!!! The first time I've ever gotten to see the Patriots in person before and I got to witness history in the making. It was also the first time that Giants Stadium got as loud as Rutgers Stadium despite having 33K more bodies stacked in it.

I agree. I posted somewhere that I see a lot of Virginia Tech in Connecticut. Strong defense, strong special teams, good depth, solid running game, etc. They also have the same thing that VT has: suspect offense. With a solid offensive coordinator and a play maker in the receiving core Connecticut is easily a Top 20 program.

You proved by the way you played that the Temple and Louisville games were given to you. West Virginia is the Real Big East Champions and you know it!

Seriously, its not our fault you guys really suck and couldnt stop us and hold a 10 point lead. The Temple reciever never had the ball while his feet were in no matter how you and the temple losers would like to rewrite it.
Also not our fault the way the BE rules work on tie brakers or head to head results. So there you have that.

The fact that UCONN was even in a position to lose to TEMPLE is sad.
Think the car care bowl will be a little wiser next time and actally do some research?!?

Look, I wasn't trying to talk smack. I am just stating my opinion. I honestly think UC would have beaten Wake. Uconn is a decent team but they are not even close to having the same type of talent as this year's UC team.

anyone who watched the game knows the td in the final minutes made it closer than it looked. how'd your bowl game go buddy? or was it considered another moral victory.
No it was a loss.. plain and simple.. But the statement that Cincy would have beaten Wake is just plain dumb.. They may have won.. they may have loss.. they didn't play so no one knows.
