Lookin good. I hope we can get some leaders to replace the Wooten/Stegall hole. Anyone know which of these guys are the best fits for the team?

That is correct. We still have one scholarship remaining. We might be getting another big man or maybe it will go to JD so we can sign someone next year. This recruiting class is amazing. Also everyone is elgible and ready to go.

RE: 2008 Commit List
I don't think any of them will come in and lead the team as Freshman. I believe we are going to hope that Jay Mitchell fits that role this year. He is older (out of high school played 2 or 3 years of pro baseball, then played one year of Juco ball and one year at Texas Tech). He fits in perfect because like Shawn be is a point forward. In juco he almost averaged a triple double. Also we are going to hope that JMac and Whipple help lead because we are going to be very young. This class is very good but very young. I believe we won't see big improvements until the second semester of the season. I can't wait until November.

Wow, great news. I mean the recruiting class is good but if you're serious about everyone being eligible thats HUGE. Its strange we didn't land a few JUCO guys.. I thought we'd go that route to help with inexperience but I guess its better when you can sign quality players that can grow in the system for 4 years. Its probably going to be a major feeling out practice at the beginning of the season with new guys everywhere..but should be fun to watch.

Maybe we can get some motion in our offense soon. That's been killing us. Shaun filled the big man role but wasn't a true down low guy. We could use someone to step up there immediately!

RE: 2008 Commit List
Doubt we will see much motion offense. I haven't seen it in 5 years of watching the Owls play. Usually motion offenses are geared towards strong guard play anyway....our strength is going to be in the post and our SF's, so we will probably see a lot of high low and wing penetrations.

ksubbfan - you can confirm that Cummings and Green are both ready to go? Those were the only two question marks left on the list.

I agree that we can't expect one of these newcomers to fill the leadership void. JMac, Whipple, JD, and Mitchell will be important on that. A few years ago our two captains were Kenan Knight and Israel Ingle - both walkons, and they were great leaders. It wouldn't surprise me to see to see JD play a similar role with his hustle and tenacity on both ends of the court.

RE: 2008 Commit List
You might be able to watch them this summer because most of them are going to take summer class.
