Not really. They get ahold of cell numbers, email addresses, pretty much anything they can get their hands on.
Perhaps the NIU portion of the story has little media appeal though, maybe once the word is out he is leaving ND, that is all they care about.

I was thinking that HAD to be the case. Or a transfer here would make no sense.

I kind of wonder if that will affect any of the current Morgan Park talent?

I would definitely think so, the pipeline is in place!

I'd take him in a heartbeat. He got screwed by Weis - he gets passed by the #3 QB after playing less than one game??? He saw the writing on the wall - and no matter how good he does in games, practices, etc. he knows that Claussen is going to be #1 for the next 4 years.

That is a silly thing to even say.

Do you KNOW what happened? What crazy ol' charlie said to him?

Honestly Weis screwed him. He has to start the true freshman in order to save his job.

"Oh we are bad but our QB is a true freshman..." ect ect...

I just think you shouldn't judge anyone. You don't know the facts, saying all that stuff is just an ignorant thing to do.

It's funny I often think the same thing about coach Novak.

But then I started to look into it, and there were for sure some players he was a little too loyal to. If you look, you will see those guys were a few years ago who I am guessing Joe had to make some promises to when recruiting them, "if you are loyal to us, we will be loyal to you" type things. He couldn't promise titles to these guys, he could only promise what he had, and that is Loyalty.

If you notice now, Joe seems to be able to shift guys out no problem. Last years seniors seem to be the last class he was overly loyal too.

Just my 2cents.

nicholson will be a senior next year....i have a really hard time that he will easily lose his job based on Novak's actions in the past. but, i do hope that every QB on the roster will get a chance to prove themselves, with the best one getting the starting gig.

The media has to "confirm", from the source, that a story is true. Unlike a message board where anyone can say anything without any liability concerns.

This transfer also brings more "legitimacy" to the program. DD was a high four star QB and rated as the #2 or 3 all- purpose QB his senior year. Hopefully we can get a couple of receivers with speed to come also.

If he really is transferring and can play next year I'm going to have to buy season tix, because that is the only way your going to be able to guarantee you'll be able to get in a game!! (And before everyone get's on me for not getting season tix now, I have 3 kids in fall sports so my Saturdays are basically booked until the end of October - that is why I liked the weekday games.)

Every year Joe says everyone has a shot, and every year he gives the ball to the senior player.

Add DJ's transfer to Diem starting for the Super Bowl champs, Turner kicking @ss, and Wolfe on the Bears and it adds up to guys knowing that going to NIU is not going to keep them from playing in the NFL. As someone above said -the way to play on Sundays is to play on Saturdays. Sitting on the bench for the next 3 years at ND won't help him as much as playing at NIU for 2!!!! 04-rock04-rock04-rock 02-13-banana02-13-banana02-13-banana

It will actually be 3 years for NIU (If he can play next year) 04-cheers

Let's pretend that Novak picks Nicholson (which no one can really be sure of)

You have to think jones will get some snaps.

I don't think he played a down, so I assume he redshirted. Just odd that ND's site has him listed as a sophmore.

From the ND website:
Quote:2006 (FRESHMAN): Mobile quarterback with a good arm did not see any playing time as a freshman but was tabbed "show team player of the week" on two occasions as he provided the starting defense with a great look playing the role of the opposing team's quarterback

Their site has him listed as a true sophmore though. If he didn't play, you would think he HAD to of redshirted.
He was redshirted. Some schools list kids by their actual academic class (Purdue also does this). Makes it confusing as hell when you're looking at them figuring out how many years kids have left.

Anyway, Jones is a rs-Fr and a Sophomore in school.
Thanks UI Huskies. That makes sense. I thought I rememberd their site having Zbikowski as a senior last year on their site, and obviously he was a RS junior.

I don't think ND redshirts freshman. He is a true sophomore. I remember Zbikowski petitioning for this year.
