RE: ASun Divisions
Well for starters Troy was the only team in Alabama. They went to the mighty Sun Belt, that Top 3 conference. I think it's part of the BCS. I bet they've won a few national titles since they left too.

But really. I think most schools leave to align all of their sports. Most had football and wanted to have everything under one roof so-to-speak.

G-Webb is leaving to go the Big South -- a conference ranked worse than the A-Sun (basketball).

Now as for the topic at hand... I love the new divisions

You can't blame GW for leaving. Though I'll kind of miss them.

RE: ASun Divisions
Has it been confirmed that there will in fact be a Divisional format? Also, what are the words on Hoops Scheduling? Are we talking a 16 Game Conference Schedule in '07-'08?

It would be a good thing to see teams have a bit more flexibility in OOC scheduling, if it's handled correctly.

Myles -- It's confirmed because G-Webbs womens hoops schedule uses the divisional format. (16 games)

I need to correct myself from above. Troy wasn't the only Alabama team -- I forgot about old J-State. However, they are one of the worst teams in all of division I ... so that hardly counts and I'm glad they are gone.

Jacksonville State and Samford both left for the Ohio Valley Conference at the same time, didn't they? I'm trying to remember.
