All for it. We all know how conservative(fiscally-speaking) countries compete with liberal countries, now don't we?

You really believe that, eh? It would be a gun-toting South against a pot-smoking, constantly-protesting North.
Dude, the North isn't what it used to be.

I distrust everyone that I don't know, white, black, jewish, christian, atheist, left, right.etc.
Do you believe Sociology is a valid science? If so, what is Sociology? Exactly. By observation we can deduct who and how people act in groups.
'Tis why I read Democratic Underground every day. Yes, aTx, I know leftists. I observe them. ...and like I said, be they black, white, yellow, or green, I don't want to live anywhere near them.
You know leftist, eh? Well please tell me about myself. Do I like strawberry yogurt or chocolate ice cream? Please enlighten me.
Jeez that had to be one of the DUMBEST things I've ever heard. If you don't want to live next to a lefty...fine, then don't. It's not a big deal. But don't say you "know" them. You really don't know anything but your own experiences, generalization, and half-truths. That goes for all you devils on this board. Right or Left...Liberal or Conservative...Good or Evil....and yes....Strawberry or Chocolate.....Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.

You have to do something about the education down there if the south were to do anything productive. Is Mississippi still 50th in education?

You a leftist? Or a Democrat? Democratic Underground is stock-full of leftists that have had polls saying they would want this country to move towards a European-style Socialist economic model.
If that's you, yeah, I don't want to live anywhere near you.

What?
Would you have said the same if they said they didn't want African Americans living in their town? How about gays?
Bet you wouldn't have said the same thing then....
P.S. I don't care about NASCAR or the fact that Seattle doesn't want them.
crime would go down though.

I don't read the Democratic Underground. If its anything like I think it is then it's a screamer blog. Just like daily kos or michelle malkin. As I've been trying to say, there is idiocy on both sides and unfortunately...those people are the loudest. To say you know "leftists" or I know "the religious right" based on those few voices is just as idiotic. The silent, pragmatic majority isn't just on the right, or just on the left, or even just in the center. Its all of the above. And one thing is for sure....it cannot be generalized accurately by you or me.
BTW, i do agree with you on something....marriott's suck for banning smoking.

Keep in mind, I do differentiate between the terms "leftist" and "Democrat". Tulsaman is what I consider a Democrat. RobertN is what I would consider a leftist. I see problems with the right. I see problems with the left. The people I am referring to are the ones that think everything wrong in this world is caused by conservatism and everything right is liberalism. Same with conservatives. I'm not a Republican. I am, however, FAR right on fiscal issues. As for social issues, I'm "maybe" slightly left of center.

Wow!
'Tis why I couldn't STAND that f'n place when I was up there for the past two years.
....and hell no, I don't watch NASCAR, but I don't denigrate those that do.
Why it seems RebelKev and I agree on something. I can't stand that pagan culture in Seattle either--or the traffic or the high cost of living and a bunch of other things.

Truth hurts doesn't it. ;-)
Have you seen the economic impact that Texas Motor Speedway has done for the Ft. Worth area? Millions on top of millions have been invested into this area, and is one of the nicest places to live in Texas.

Ft. Worth or by the Motor speedway? They aren't really the same. The speedway is a good 30-45 minutes from Ft. Worth when there isn't a race and 1.5 hours from Big D. The closest thing is the Alliance airport, which isn't really much of an airport.
