In the BC we throw the confetti after our first made field goal and I remember the paper after the Gonzaga game saying that we were throwing sugar packets at Morrison. Dumb reporters.

Very poor class by the students.
Why are you on this board anyway with this crap

MemphisBlazer-
Eagle had every right to come here and post about this. He is over here quite often to talk (mostly about basketball as he pointed out) and has a standing respect here with some Memphis fans (I don't know everyone's opinion, so I can't speak for everyone). With that said, I think the main reason why he had every right to come over here and post something regarding your coach, is for the same exact reason that you are allowed to post all of your crap regarding Memphis and its players, fans and coaches on your beloved BlazerTalk. Whether Davis' actions were right, wrong, stupid or defensive in nature...who cares...Eagle is allowed to throw it out there whether you like it or not. So, with regard to the last question that you proposed to Eagle...I submit that same question to you.

I'm glad they both posted, it makes for good reading especially when it doesn't involve something studpid on our part.

Back in the MSC days, refs were constantly bending over and picking up loose change that had been thrown on the floor.
Those were the days!

I think everyone agrees, including eagle that throwing anything on the floor is wrong and should be dealt with appropriately.
I also agree with the other poster, why is Blazer on our board complaining about something someone from another school posted. Why are you on our board at all? Eagle comes to our board often and is well respected for his openness and honesty. When his team or school does something wrong he doesn't try to hide behind it by blaming everyone but the one's responsible, he stands up and admit's it. If he comes here and says the intended target was a referee I will take his word on that before I take the word of someone who has a definite bias and is always one sided.
And Blazer, why are you not criticizing your coach for doing something so overt and antagonistic as trying to go into the stands? That's about as low class as a coach can get and I hope he gets fined or suspended for his actions. Regardless of the reasons, what he did or tried to do was wrong and he should have to pay the price the same as anyone else.

10-4. I have that game on tape still. What a tear jerker with Keith, Diane and son and all the love from the fans.

They were throwing objects at the player...not. They were throwing at the ref because of that horrible call. Don't be a drama queen and make him look as if there were a good reason to try to go after students. If the students did someting improper, it's up to the security to take care of it. If they do not, it can be turned into the conference for review.
Throwing stuff on the floor is pretty stupid. There has been enough criticism of OM fans throwing stuff at their football games that I am suprised if we have a double standard on this board. I would be embarassed if our fans did that.
our fans throw open knives.
What a classic reference. It was 84-85 season at the MSC against Virginia Tech I believe (ask JMS.) Sports Illustrated was covering us for that game as well so the knife throwing incident made the national rags. Kirk had to get on the PA system and tell us to quit throwing things on the floor and finished off by saying his famous "Play Hard" mantra. I think it was Tech because that was the game where Keith showed off his new shaved head sans jerry curls. Crazy game and crazy fans. Thems were the days.
84-85 Motto- "Play Hard"
85-86 Motto- "Play Harderrrr???"
UL.
Thanks. Wasn't that the year Wagner was out with a bad ankle? I'm pretty sure that was the first time we beat UL 3x in one season. If Kirk's a jerk then crums a bum!!

Let's also be clear... 2 items were thrown... not just one. The first item was a hat. The second item was a small ball of some kind. This is why Davis was outraged. Had it happened once, he would have been mad, but not fuming mad like he was. The refs kept saying that they would give a warning about it, and Davis is like "it's already happened twice!!" While he maybe shouldn't be trying to get into the stands like that, I find it pathetic that the USM fans would act that way. At UAB, we'd get a technical for the first item... let alone the second. Not only that, but the one that committed the act would be escorted out. I'm sorry, but USM was winning the game at that point... and even ended up winning. Learn to WIN with some class.... I know USM hasn't done a whole lot of winning in basketball, but get over it and grow up!

Come on. It could have been something really lethal.

Of course you know who got that rule put in? None other than Clean Gene Bartow himself. he claimed our students were chanting racial slurs at his players.
