lmfao Like I'm going to value a BGSU fan and Ohio resident's opinion! You people from Ohio kill me...seriously...

FWIW, I lived away from Ohio longer than I lived in Ohio. I'm much more aligned with the Mid-Atlantic/NE Corridor than Ohio.

You Illinois people kill me ... seriously ... lmfao ;-)

I don't care where you've lived, where your aligned with etc. It still does not take away from the fact that Ohio is the worst state in the nation.

California is the worst state in the nation, period ;-)

I hate to say it, but I think that Illinois is the worst state in the nation - and I have lived here all my life. Outside of Chicago (and, of course, DeKalb), what the hell does this state have? Why do all of us here vacation outside the state? There ain't nuthin' here! Wisconsin, Michigan, and even Indiana have more to do, with more vacation sites and more beautiful scenery than Illinois. Being born and reared :moon2: (and raised) here, it pains me to say that this state sucks. If it weren't for a good job in Chicago, I'd be out of here with the speed of light.
Sorry, you are wrong. What other state has the NIU Huskies? That alone makes it better than every other state. Without NIU, yes it would suck pretty bad and rank right up there.

I stand corrected. I forgot that Illinois has Naperville. 03-yawn On second thought, that confirms even more that this is the worst state in the land!!

There are 4 things that are keeping me in Illinois: family, job, friends, and the Huskies. But...I gotta tell ya, once I retire and my elder family members go to their eternal resting place, I'm outta here, baby!!

Things I do not like about Illinois:

1) The weather sucks.
2) The geography is ugly.
3) Lack of fun destinations/things to do.
4) Naperville (and all that it stands for).
5) The Cubs.
6) Corrupt state and local politicians.
7) Very few attractions and vacation destinations outside of Chicago (and DeKalb). (How much can/should you promote Galena?)
8) Did I mention Naperville??

However, as bad as Illinois is, the state of Ohio may be even worse now that I think about it. Why else would there be a sign above all the toilets in my trailer park that says, "Flush twice. It's a long way to Toledo!"

At one point in time I felt that way as well and my family was pondering leaving Illinois. I can honestly say that the Huskies will probably keep me in Illinois my entire life even though there are many things to be desired that Illinois lacks.

Indiana is BRUTAL. As mentioned, outside of Northwest Illinois, Illinois sucks as well. Springfield is the biggest dump of a state capitol I have ever seen.

But - North Dakota really is a waste.

Back to the OSU thing, I have a friend who is a BG alum. When the Falcons played the Bucks she was all dressed up in scarlet and gay...er gray and cheered like mad for OSU. I could not believe it. I asked her how she could cheer against her school. I told her that I was more of a BG fan than she was! All she could tell me was that I simply do not understand...it's OSU for God's sake!!!

She will cheer on the Bucks when they play us and the Falcons again.

I know the odds are against us, but I hope and pray that we beat the living daylights out of them....sheesh. 05-mafia

Yep pathetic. When I was at Akorn both times this year, at least every other person was wearing tOFU crap. I couldn't believe how many people weren't wearing Apron gear at their own game!

I would go out of my mind if at Huskie games that many people were wearing ILLness crap. I get pissed if I see one, but even that doesn't happen very often.

I see enough U of I garbage on campus to sicken me. I wonder how many so called NIU fans would change their cardinal to orange if the Illini came and played in Huskie Stadium. Still the whole fascination with tOSU in Ohio is a big joke. As for the worst state, Illinois does get boring outside of Chicago, but I think Iowa is even worse.

If OSU plays as well as they did last night, NIU has no shot in this game. In fact, I don't think any MAC team could stay with OSU right now. I know things may change by next season, but OSU is too good right now to lose at home, especially against a "mid-major" team. This probably will be seen as harsh and unfair, but OSU is clearly at a whole different level than they were the previous year.

You're just trying to boost your post count, aren't you? As if it isn't high enough already. ;-)

This is going to be one LONG thread.

But they have only 2 starters returning on defense. With Matt Rogers hopefully returning to the Oline from his academic issues, the Huskies will have 4 of their 5 Olineman back plus TE and 2 QB's with game experience plus Garrett Wolfe. I believe the Huskies can run on OSU and if they do they have a real shot at winning. 04-rock 04-chairshot 05-mafia

I can't imagine why anyone at an NIU game would wear any U of I stuff, it's clear that NIU has the better team. Illinois hasn't done anything since they won the Big 10 in 01. The only other sports team stuff I have worn to a Huskie game besides NIU is a Chicago Wolves hat and the Wolves mascot looks alot like Victor Huskie. 04-rock 01-lauramac2
