It's baaaaaaaack! The 2nd annual countdown to football season!

It seems like a long way away right now. It was 1 month ago today (I think) that we lost the MAC Title. So you have already made it through a month of the off-season. The day will come though. We will be sitting in the Horse shoe watching the Huskies take on the Buckeyes. It may be along way away right now, but winter will pass, so will spring, and most summer; then fall will arrive and it will be Huskies football season once again!

Isn't OSU also playing Bowling Green this coming season?
According to nationalchamps.net, BG plays OSU on October 7th.

Not looking forward to that. At all.
Why not?

You almost beat them in 2003!

2003 Falcons > 2006 Falcons

Hurts me to say that, but 'tis true.

The 2003 Buckeye offense was abysmal, too. So, it's quite possible that ...

2006 Buckeyes > 2003 Buckeyes.

That makes for a painful equation.

2006 Buckeyes >> 2006 BG + 2006 NIU? ;-)

Seriously G-String get a life.

If OSU plays as well as they did last night, NIU has no shot in this game. In fact, I don't think any MAC team could stay with OSU right now. I know things may change by next season, but OSU is too good right now to lose at home, especially against a "mid-major" team. This probably will be seen as harsh and unfair, but OSU is clearly at a whole different level than they were the previous year.

jeez, cut the kid some slack. He's just excited for the 2006 season. I'm sure he has realistic expectations about NIU at Ohio State. But it doesn't mean that its not exciting... 01-wingedeagle

That's funny. If I were into smack talking, I'd create a sign with that slogan on it.

Well, I am - and I will. My prospective sign list grows.
You guys should know by now, that if you take a shot at Ohio State football you are going to offend the typical Toledo fan as much as a Ohio State fan. A typical Toledo fan cares more about the Buckeyes than they do their own team. I still can't believe Toledo schedules their home games around the Buckeyes schedule. That is some crazy stuff.

I think it is smart to schedule around the Buckeyes schedule. The key is to maximize attendance. If you are going to lose 25% of your crowd due to the Buckeyes why do you want to compete???
