Come on even those of us at Hilltop High as you call it can take one from Buffalo. And that was on THEIR turf. Wow is your program pathetic.

Yes, but many of your fellow KSU fans have.

Do you think there will be a lot of Akron fans on Turkey Day? I am one that thinks this game should be the first of the season. Look at the number of fans at Akron two years ago, and at Kent last year.

I'll agree that it should be the opening game of the year. If for no other reason then your fans will actually show up. Optimism reigns supreme at the start of the season. By now you guys are so down and out I doubt you'll see 1000 Kent fans make the 20 min. drive. The home side will be mildly full though. After polling the on-campus students about how many of them would stay on campus over Thanksgiving and go to the football game, the University has decided to leave all dorms open over the break. That to me bodes very well for the attendance. Also heard that a lot of people in the community will make the trip down. A lot of old timers coming back for the old Thanksgiving day game. I'm not gonna talk sellout as it isn't going to happen. But there will probably be on the plus side of 10K there.

Akron fired Lee Owens after a 7-win season yet Brookhart has not won 7 games in either season. When will you want JD fired?

Forgetting that two of those wins were against Cal-Poly and Howard. Teams that even your lowly team would stand a fighting chance against. On top of that I don't remember stating anything about firing our coach or yours.

You didn't, but I figured since you stand for a high level of excellence that you certainly couldn't be happy. Or do you settle for .500? Do that and you are no better than us KSU fans who cheer for a terrible program. We were elated last year to go 5-6.

Besides, you were shut out by Army on your homecoming. Army or Buffalo? Pretty much even. Is it really that much fun for you to rag on KSU? Everybody else does too.

No, I'm not really pleased with our team this year. Mainly due to our QB and o-line play. Luke Getsy has shown flashes of brilliance mixed with a general struggle for mediocrity. The o-line is young and has been incredibly prone to mistakes this season. The thing that seperates us from you is a commitment to obtain better. Look at our recruiting classes lately. Look at what the Presidents and ADs have done to try to improve. Thats the big difference I see.

And I do see a difference between Buffalo and Army. Army has been a loser because of a tough ****** schedule. If I remember correctley they had faced 3 ranked opponents as well as a couple other BCS schools before coming to us. It doesn't make that loss any better, it was pathetic. I know that, our fans know that, and our team I think knows that. But loosing to Buffalo, a team that can't even get consistent wins against MAC teams is a whole different level of sucking.

I finally baited you into it. You played who stinks less card. Beating KSU won't hurt our feelings. We expect to lose.

Good luck against OU. Maybe you can talk to yourself on their board if you beat them.

You want a cookie or something? Better yet, maybe your band can give you guys a parade

Edit: By the way. My points from day one of the smack have been this.

#1) Your football team is pathetic.
#2) Our entire athletic program is making progress towards coming out of the cellar while yours seems to be content to plumet into it. That was pretty much my point from the last post.

The funny thing here is that the Akron athletic department has been trying to get out of the cellar for, oh boy, an extremely long time.

Yes, looking at the 98% empty stands tonight at the Rubber Bowl, the support is obvious. Your athletic department has done an outstanding job getting those 1000 fans to a game where you claim to be in contention. So maybe "500 rowdy fans" at a basketball game isn't out of reach.:D

At least we can say we stink. You claim to be "up and coming" program. But no one in Akron appears to care :crying:

Was at the game. In all honesty, on a night when there are Tornado warnings for all of Eastern Ohio according to the radio, I'm surprised anyone showed up. Still, we had probably about as many fans at that game as you guys have had at your last two combined.

Oh please. The tornado warning was at 6:30 for extreme SW Ohio. 200 miles away from Akron and long after the time anybody would have made up his/her mind to go to the game. Just based on the fact you are trying to feel better about your program by comparing it to KSU shows how small-time you are. I give the Ohio fans credit. After they got Solich, they were willing to fight with the Miami, Toledo fans for respect. Go play with them on the main board. They will talk some smack.

Yeah, Miami and OU are rivals. Wonder why they are talking smack to one another? Hmm...I don't know. Why am I comparing us to you? Because, and I know this may come as a surprise, you guys are SUPPOSED to be OUR rivals.

Did anyone show up? All TV shots were empty seats..with the announcers saying
"how long would it take to move the Miami agame here for a double header- because the weather cooperated?" Wasn't it in the high 50's and cloudy at kick off? Besides, what kind of weather do you think you'll get in NE Ohio in mid November?

You actually have a decent team..not that anyone in Akron (aside from a few associated with the school ) notices or cares. You even have to have a letter writing campaign to your HOMETOWN paper blocks away for coverage. At least we can say no one goes to the games because we lose...you just have to face the fact that you support "Apathy U."

The TV loves to show empty seats. Its a fact. On top of that the entire endzone seating is covered up b/c it is unsafe any more (I feel this is also a very nice ploy by the AD in our push towards the new on-campus stadium, which by the way is just a matter of time before it will be built according to many good sources). If they showed a shot from the bottom of the home stands up you would have seen that the home side was about 5/8 full. And there WERE tornado warnings. I was listening to the pregame on the way in and the exact quote was "tornado warning in effect for Wayne, Tuscarawas, and county east until midnight." On top of that the forcast all week was for weather similar to what Miami/BG got. On top of that, we still did draw about as many fans for one game with threatening weather as you guys did for your last two home games.
