Who would you put on this team based on talent?
Also lets name an all heart team?
My vote for the first is Jim McDaniels
My vote for the second Mark Bell

I assume All time Hilltopper Team is for basketball, although Jim McDaniels probably would have been good on the football field.
Given my age, I can't speak for players before the 80's although I've read plenty about the teams of the pre-Haskins coaching era.
I think a by-decade team would be better. It's hard for the younger fans to give proper honor to the earlier teams and their players....

I agree Bubba.
Let's try breaking it down by decade.
80's: Kannard Johnson, Clarence Martin, Tellis Frank (wow, it's funny they all played together), Brett McNeal, Craig McCormick
90's: Mark Bell, Darnell Mee, Darrin Horn, Chris Robinson
Those are just a few that I can think of right away. Someone take the list and run!

Its hard to believe that Kannard and company did not make it to a Final Four, in my opinion that was one special team, I was a rugrat but that was a great collection of talent!
I think we got another great collection now I think this year will be special!

Speaking of those teams in the mid to late 80's, I attended the pre-season NIT game between WKU and Notre Dame in '86(?)....Wow, what an awesome experience. 2,000, give or take, Hilltopper faithful and a premier basketball team traveled to Southbend to educate the Irish.
When WKU made it to Madison Square against UNLV (Ranked #1 in the nation) in the title game and took them to overtime, I think most of the Hilltopper nation were sure we had a possible Final Four team.... and we could have.... That was the first year of the 3 point shot and we weren't ready for that. If the 3 pointer hadn't been introduced until a year later, yes, I believe it would have been one for that ages......
