TJRocket Wrote:Flipper Wrote:WHK and WKNR alternate the broadcasts. Those stations cover Cleveland, Akron and Canton.
Face the facts, lil' Rockette...when it comes to marketing athletics and the university, TU runs a poor second in NW Ohio.
WHK and WKNR  ??? Are you sure those stations cover Akron and Canton??? Are you for certain??? Do you honestly believe that you have more listeners on those two stations combined than WSPD??? If you go to WSPD you are gonna find some info on the Rockets, front page. Now let see what happens when yo go to the "other" guys radio stations...
<a href='http://www.whkradio.com/default.asp' target='_blank'>WHK 1220</a>
:withstupid: Nothing on BG athletics there. Oh btw, im sure there are a large group of listeners who are more than happy to miss the "Jay the gospel Kid" for BG football.
and then there is this cute little station that has about 27 listeners...
<a href='http://www.keener13.com/' target='_blank'>WKNR 850</a>
:withstupid:
Im sure you felt like a big man typing out those cute little stations call letters, but the fact is birdboy those stations much like the university you cheer for are jokes, jokes that have no audiences. :ownd:
I cant wait to hear your spin on this.
TJ,
Just to let you know...I live in Green (About 5 miles south of downtown Akron and the next best place to BOWLING Green!) and I listened to plenty of games on WKNR and WHK outta Cleveland. My mom and dad (both 1964 grads of BGSU) listened to these games in my hometown of Dover...which is almost 80 miles south of Cleveland. So, WKNR and WHK DO carry that far. I know, I worked in radio for 10 years. I go to almost every BG football game, home or away, and the few I cannot make I gladly turn on WKNR or WHK to listen to the game right here in Summit County.
The problem with WKNR is they are the flagship station for the OSU Buckeyes so if BG and OSU are playing at the same time (in football or basketball), guess which school 'KNR is gonna carry?
WHK has an agreement with the U of Akron as well. And since Akron is 25 miles away and BG is 120 miles away, Akron gets first dibs. This was the first year for BG games in Cleveland but I can guarantee you is certainly won't be the last.
Our play by play man, Todd Walker, is keeping us posted on AZZ.com about working out a deal to carry EVERY BG football and basketball game in the future. There are a ton of us BG grads in NE Ohio. And Todd Walker stomps the sh*t outta Mark "I have the RRRRRRRRRRRRRockettes runs" Byer. It isn't even close....Byer is an idiot.
And don't be surprised if you see affiliates in Columbus, Dayton and/or Cincy carrying BG athletics in the future.
You accuse Flipper of being dishonest and I proved you wrong, as usual. Seems to me you're getting jealous of BG cuz the Rockettes ain't the top dog in NW Ohio anymore....and won't be for years.
And it is fun to be a Falcon....much more than some crappy rockette in the police blotter!

GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!
Flipper, great posts thru this whole thread. Fact is fact....bullsh*t is bullsh*t and TJ knows all about bullsh*t.
