I just don't see Miami cracking that top 4 at all. And I'd say especially if Ohio St is sitting there at 11-2 and Big Ten champions.

So if Miami is 6 now (Amway Coaches Poll) and beats ND at 3 now. Where does Miami rise? Do one loss teams TCU and OKLA and Washington rate higher than Miami? And if Miami wins out, how could Miami be anything other than a 2 or 3? The ND and Clemson games seem to be the predominate indicators. And if Miami stumbles against VA or Pitt, then they are on the bubble at best.

If Miami losses to VA or Pitt they free fall in the rankongs even if they beat ND. ND should drop like a rock too if Miami beat them and then losses to VA or Pitt.

If Miami stumbles to either Pitt of UVA, then will likely tumble out of the top 4 even with wins against ND and Clemson. The U has had to many years of mediocrity to get the sentiment vote. Now if they do make the top 4, they'll change some minds. Or should I say the dollar signs will be big as Miami can return to one of those marquee teams which means more eyeballs and rating which equals selection consideration. Miami is close to being there, but needs a strong finish. Losing 1 will be acceptable. Losing 2 will bring the naysayers saying the U was overrated. Either way, the U is back from a 15 year hiatus and at least in the conversation.
