I would like to know more about the Green Berets in Niger.. what they were doing there, what happened, and what our response is going to be.

You can't really compare the two tragedies other than the fact that Americans died.

No, they were not abandoned. Every investigation came to that same conclusion. And you're taking H's comment WAY out of context.

And isn't dying Americans alone enough to make them comparable anyway? I think so.

No rescue mission ever came, it never arrived. The next morning the remaining Americans hitched a ride to the airport, I think some locals gave them a ride.

I don't believe that's true. The nearby CIA team eventually responded and got the remaining Americans to the airport from what I remember reading on it.
