Back to the original subject. Another interview from Aresco (done right after his contract extension was announced). In this one he makes it quite clear that the Power 6 stuff is a marketing effort designed primarily to change the conference perception among members of the press and the general public. From there, the next step would be to work with the NCAA to create a path to become an autonomous conference with the other P5's. I dont think there is any existing mechanism to add or remove schools from the NCAA's D1 autonomous group. So, as I suspected---its a marketing plan with a much more limited goal than some seem to believe. Lots of heavy lifting exists before any real structual P6 could exist.
