No. The OVC thinks they're too good for Division II move-ups. Besides, Bellarmine would be a better choice.

Agreed, but that's a great looking arena. Bellarmine's got a foot already in D1...they need something like USI.

A great arena can't save Chicago State. Great facilities don't mean what they used to infer.

Plus, can an area the size of Evansville support two D-I programs not called Indiana or Kentucky?

Regardless, you gotta love the nickname Screaming Eagles.

USI averages around 1500 for mbb. Not great, but a number of OVC schools do too.

Would imagine that goes up and Evansville goes down, depending on the seasons W-L.

This could be a declaration to the MVC by the OVC: If you add Murray St, we'll take a bite out of Evansville with USI.

Evansville is a relatively small school, while USI was founded much later. The USI grads far outnumber the Aces now, and even more so locally. Evansville and Drake seem to be weak links in the MVC.

USI had been rumored to go DI when UND moved up. We played them for a DII women's bball championship.
