There is considerable overhead that has to be done by the sponsoring conference. Most do not want to bother with it. I am not sure it's even possible for a school to switch during the transition. The whole process of oversight and sponsorship would have to be renegotiated. It's probably similar to trying to switch jobs on an H1B visa. Eve if it can be done it is not certain, and it could run into all kinds of problems. Uncertainty is not what ant transitioning school wants, and why nobody has ever switched oce they begin the process until they are done.

Bottom line, the OVC is not in the business of transitioning schools in classification (UCSD has discovered to their chagrin that this is also true of the Big West). And neither Kennesaw State nor North Alabama want to complicate their path to D-I.

What a bunch of bunk. The OVC has taken Samford, SE Mo St, SIUE, Tn-Martin, Jacksonville St and others direct from DII. The OVC didn't want NKU because it was too daunting athletically for the OVC. That's more telling than anything. The OVC may have been the former conference of Louisville, Marshall, WKY, Evansville etc, but it has fallen far and keeps falling since. A transitioning school can switch anytime after it gets an invite. But maybe your posts are just comic routines. 04-cheers
