Not sure if that means 11 teams/20 games or Evansville's flirting with the Horizon.

His article says that the idea is 11 teams and 20 conference games.

Quote:The Missouri Valley Conference is targeting both Valparaiso and Murray State as potential additions following Wichita State’s departure to the American Athletic Conference, multiple sources told FanRag Sports.

Those two additions would give the league 11 teams in total which would lead to each team playing twice during the regular season in a 20-game league format, according to separate source.

That is just odd. It seems so out of character for the league, cutting non-conference games and 11 is workable but can be unpleasant in scheduling.

Very odd and out of character indeed. I actually think if they are going to add two, they might as well add a third and go the route of the AAC: 7 home/away and 4, 1-plays, for a total of 18 games. With this set up, the schedulers can insure the better teams only have to play the RPI anchors once.
