And, it is not like they were much improved over last year. In fact, GaTech had exactly the same conf record (8-10) and finish (11th) as last season, and unless they go on a serious NIT run, their overall record will be worse. Essentially, it appears that he won the honor due to 2 games, his wins over UNC & Duke.

I believe they also fell in KenPom and Sagarin rankings. Weird deal. Gotta be sympathy / popularity vote. Heck, he's been telling them all year they're great and HOFers. It hasn't gotten old yet.
