add in the fact that OSU got 2 crucial blown calls go their way on their late 4th quarter go ahead drive, the 2nd being on 4th and goal. in reality, OSU was lucky to have the lead. as for the final play, yeah, it was a technical misinterpretation of the rule, but the spirit of the rules dictates CMU should have had the ball for a final play. OSU chose to do a cowardly play that was in violation of the rules to clinch the game instead of executing a football play that required them to execute.
