He's done a lot for ETSU in a very short amount of time. Young, ambitious guys are great to have, but you have to realize that there's no off switch. A mountain climber has to climb mountains.

I'm not saying that Noland doesn't want the UT job or won't eventually take it but this is a different situation than say a coach moving from ETSU to UT. Any state university president job is a big deal and the difference between being the president at ETSU and UT is not that big of a jump. Jimmy Cheek made $434K last year and Noland made $311K. While a significant difference, that 100k is not change your lifestyle money.

Yeah - it would take more than $100K for Noland to revamp his wardrobe to Orange and White from all his Blue and Gold. The man has some serious style.
