I promise that I ask not in skepticism, or trying to be a douche, I just work in a public sector finance role so it's interesting to me to see how this was structured. I'd love to hear from one of you or if you have a link that would be great, maybe there is already one, but I'm not going back through 200+ pages to look for it.

The whole $300M project is partnership with Carter USA and Oakwood. I have heard our portion is $100M give or take. The expectation is that naming rights and donations will pay for some of that. But largely the GSU Foundation is coming out of pocket for a majority portion of this. It helps that the Burning Bright fundraising campaign (for the university not the project) has raised $272M of their $300M goal. I believe $30M of that is earmarked for Athletics. Also keep in mind that even the stadium will have some academic function with classrooms being built in the building. The School of Hospitality will also be housed inside teh stadium. So in addition to being a public/private partnership its also academic/athletics. But the majority of the I think $58M for the renovation of the stadium is the GSU Foundation writing a check. Becker made a promise that we would not burden students with this project and I am not sure but I think he also said no new debt (bonds) would be issued.

Very interesting, thanks. Does that $58M for stadium reno just account for what is currently underway or some of those later phases that you all have talked about as well?
