I take that article as... we can't take credit for this, but we know about it. Again, it doesn't hurt that the Lt. Governor's son is on the basketball team.

Who is also quoted publicly as questioning the viability of the Georgia State football program. Can't claim the good without the bad, just saying.

Georgia Southern is connected pretty well in the Governor's office too.

Also, the BoR is very accommodating of stuff that improves the academic mission of universities. That's why this purchase is not an issue as that is a majority of what you will gain here. However, when was the last time ya'll had to get approval for any major athletics upgrades? The game is weird these days, and unless you're fully funding it through private funds you're going to get taken to task for it. Just be prepared.
