Sorry for generalizing. Seems some of your GS brethren don't think this is a good idea for us to try nor thinks we can pull it off.

Calm down Stanley. All I did was ask a legitimate question about funding for The Ted's renovations (a question that still hasn't been answered). It was a great idea for the school to buy the land. The only problem is that the school can't pay to have The Ted renovated. That money has to come from sources outside of state funds.

Since the Dome is coming down, how is State planning to play at the Ted in 2017? A football field that meets NCAA regulations will not fit on the playing surface at Turner the way it sits now. The locker rooms are set up for two 25 man baseball teams. NCAA regulations are you have to accommodate no less than 75 players for each squad in the locker rooms (if it hasn't changed recently). If State finds the money to do the renovations, you won't get the keys until 1/1/17 at the earliest, so just meeting those two requirements (though I'm sure there are many more I don't know about) will take months.

I apologize if asking serious and relevant questions equates to trolling in the ATL. 07-coffee3
Amazing

Simply amazing.

We don't have the money because you say so. So it will not happen because you're an expert.

How can you play in the Ted in 2017??? This is impossible I tell you!!!

Or we can just lay a football field down the third base line...

I mean, you COULD... but it would be kinda tough to throw fade routes when the back pylon is in the 4th row of seats.

You can't just measure off 120 yards. NCAA regs require a 12' buffer zone around all sides of the field for safety reasons (remember the WR that broke his leg running into a golf cart behind the endzone several years back?).

This 5 minute measurement on Google maps tells me you're going to have to remove outfield seats to fit a field that meets NCAA regs.

You can LOL all you want, but you can't say "we got this" and then follow it up with "all design and capacity considerations are unknown". I'll give you your first design consideration: a football field will not physically fit in Turner Field without considerable reconfiguration.

Post of the day winner.
