I gotta say I see potential there I don't see with the other site.

So we should take the falling down 15k seat stadium even further away than the dome, not the professional stadium and 70 acres that are clsoer.

Possibly. I don't have current photos to look at. I gotta figure the renovations would be less expensive than what will occur at the Braves stadium. It'll certainly be closer to the right size.

It's not nearly as co of a story though so I can see why folks would be more interested by the other move.

It's more than just a stadium, due to the mix use of the area that will include dorms, shopping, etc., that will accompany the 70 acres. That much land, that close to the university doesn't come up often...for GSU to pass up the opportunity to develop that space would have been absurd. This was a golden chance for GSU...president and board will make it work.

...in addition to which , the building is the prize. 49k partially covered chair backs plus the clubs and seating and all the auxiliary space. As CRH has quipped "Cant wait to see my new office at the Ted". It would make no sense to take on a falling down 15k seat stadium and pour millions into it to double teh size just to have the payoff be that you're on someone else's campus. You add in 67 acres that llows you to move baseball, softball and soccer back downtown not to mention the possibility of bringing back men's track. All of this in walking distance of the existing campus and of where students, faculty and alumni are already living off campus. No brainer.

So that 67 acres is going to include the Ted, separate baseball and softball stadiums, a track (cause we all know tracks around football fields suck) parking for football (no MARTA), student housing and its related parking, retail shops, single family housing, restaurants, and office space.

That is a tightly packed, highly condensed 67 acres.
