I'll try to get the link but the Governor of Georgia (Nathan Deal, from Gainesville) just made some public comments that are very hostile to the idea of casino gambling in the state. His personal opposition has been known for a long time but now he's saying that he will actively lobby the members of the Ga. Legislature to make sure the whole casino idea doesn't get past the drawing board.

Nathan Deal has not impressed me as Governor these past 5 years, but I'm glad to see that he's on the right side of this issue.
