RE: Georgia State's plan for Turner Field challenged
The "Notre Dame of the South", never materialized for GT, but I guess the dream still quietly lives on.
So why don't they petition to go the public charter route like Georgia Military College did.
Anyway, yah Turner Field if repurposed, will make a lovely spot for a kinked up stadium design for Georgia State. Between Vanderbilt's Stadium, Bobby Dodd Stadium, and Legion Field, it'd be right up there in ugly.
I'd actually like to see Georgia State build their own football stadium down that way, like what was briefly mentioned as an alternative, maybe something like what UAB had planned.
Make them hapless Blazers jealous lol !
If/when they get this done, and given a few years of improved on the field performance, I think the attendance will grow as well. Heck, y'all might even get a few band wagon jumpers along the way. A good place to start would be passing out free tickets to the local "urban outdoorsmen" along with cash drop vouchers.
You should pick up several hundred more loyal fans, maybe throw in a complimentary bottle of Mad Dog on the way out the gate. I think it'll work.
