Missed blocks are one thing, but fumbling the ball at the goal line is another. You have to protect the ball at all cost in the red zone, regardless of blocking. It won't be the only missed block he will suffer in his career. Here are the two plays in that game in question(http://espn.go.com/ncf/playbyplay?gameId...period=2):

Quote:2nd and Goal at FLA 7 Kurt Benkert run for 6 yds to the Fla 1 for a 1ST down FLORIDA Penalty, Face Mask (0 yards) ( Yards) to the Fla 1 for a 1ST down

1st and Goal at FLA 1 Kurt Benkert run for no gain to the Fla 1 Kurt Benkert fumbled, forced by Gerald Willis, recovered by Fla Brian Poole

That's one good play and one bad one. It doesn't define a career in any sense but does raise caution as to hopefully he has learned from the experience.

But the point is, two plays, one being extremely good (should've been a TD), and one being a fumble, is far from looking "pretty awful" just because it doesn't fit the UCF narrative.

As for a small sample size, I guess you didn't watch the other video. He shredded our defense in the spring game, which was almost a year ago. Not to mention he marched down the field on UNC-CH

2 plays with 1 turnover doesn't seem too good. Regardless of your excuses for how he was tackled. Don't be so sensitive and insecure. That does not mean he is going to be a bad quarterback, just that he looked bad on that one series.
So what's your point? If you think that has no bearing on how good he is then you just commented for the sake of commenting.

He didn't look bad on that series. Holman looks bad. Fumbling a ball when the first thing you see is a four star athlete weighing 200-300 some pounds hitting you is not looking bad. That's looking human. Forget about his nerves being through the roof, 90% of starting quarterbacks in the country would fumble the ball there.

I'm sure lord and savior Bortles has never turned the ball over on the first 2 plays of a series.

Oh, how they forget,
