Correct. In order to move up to FBS we had to do this, and basketball was going to get a downgrade. Now if only we had the option to stay in CAA football and move to A10 in basketball, I would be all for that. However, schools like VCU with no football will never get higher than A10 (Big East is private schools only and all the other higher conferences require FBS football), while we still have the POTENTIAL to go higher. I think we can all agree we want to get there asap, but we have to maintain patience.

Sorry to bring those goats from rva into this, but it's something I've thought about recently. They are definitely on an elevated level compared to us right now, but being the #1 team in the A10 is the highest they can ever achieve. At least we still have hopes of leapfrogging into a better conference someday.
