Anyway he could come in and play point? Personally, I'll settle with him keeping Baker from having huge minutes next year... Having a huge year in JUCO for what its worth.

I agree with the part about him replacing Baker. If Baker gets a lot of minutes per game next year we are in deep dodo. Haynes is going to be a welcome addition but he is not a point guard. The truth is we need a point guard bad. I don't think Caver is the answer. He is a deceit back up but we need a point guard badly. All the rest of the parts are in place for a great season.

See, I'm going to hold off judgement on Caver. JJ loves him and goes out of his way in interviews to compliment his Basketball IQ. Also, he supposedly dominates in practice. I think once he gets some confidence he'll really get going next year. He is always at the SRC shooting too. But yeah a grad transfer guard would definitely be nice!

I agree we could use another point guard, and preferably either a fifth year senior, or a JUCO who has some on college level experience.

As far as Caver, I think he is a very good point guard. His assist to turnover ratio is better than 2-to-1 which is excellent, especially for a freshman. He turned the ball over only 0.8 times per game in over 15 minutes of playing time. He's a hell of an athlete, and a good defender. I remember him skying to block an alley oop pass during the UTEP game I believe. The kid can really elevate. He did not shoot a very good percentage but he hardly had enough attempts to develop any kind of rhythm. While Freeman averaged almost 20 attempts per game, Caver averaged fewer than 3 attempts. I suspect his shooting percentage will go up dramatically with more frequency.
