We will have to get to Memphis status or get promoted to a better league to be a consistent tournament team. As we saw this year, a few bad games half way across the country and we are doomed.

Guess it depends on how you define consistent. I think we have proven to be at the very least a 1 every 4 year type of team, if not better. We have 4 in the last 10 years, and this year were first 4 out (pretty darn close).

VT has 1 in last 10 years. I think even if Buzz can get them playing WAY better, they are still going to struggle for a bid. Like I said earlier, yes ACC is a 6-8 bid league, but 6 of those bids are almost a certain lock at this point every year (UNC, Duke, UVA, Syracuse, Louisville, ND).

That leaves 1 maybe 2 bids for the "other" teams. So they are going to fight with NC State, Miami, FSU, Pitt every year for those other 1 or 2 bids. Right now all 4 of those teams are ahead of VT. That doesn't even account for Wake, Clemson, GT, and BC which aren't exactly "bad" programs.

Where do you see consistent success in that environment? I just can't see it happening.
